I believe its his trainer from chapter 8, Grado. Their design feels similar.

Saintess has the perfect motive, moreover we never really she her dead despite the demons just shown us the doom day. The Demons could be in contact with her the moment Takeru was captured, she could still hesitating until Takeru was beheaded. Though at this point saintess being the knight could be the most obvious twist that it probably won't happen.

Personally I don’t care about who is behind the mask, I just hope there’s an ending where saintess and hero get together somehow after all of the cute chapters the author drops about them.

Also there looks to be a 3rd party controlling things from a prior chapter with the guy who ordered the execution (or maybe that was just exaggerated drawing from the author)

i genuinely don't think edelweiss is gonna be the dark knight? unless it's mind control like the puppet dude's powers (i think don't quote me on that). but the dark knight came out of the portal with calmia and the demons while edelweiss was at takeru's execution so i don't think it lines up unless we were told false info, which i wouldn't be too surprised about in this manga but it's not like a guarantee.

i do think it would be kinda cool if it was other takeru (takkun) especially since this chapter just brought up that our takeru hopes they could've been friends WHILE HE WAS FIGHTING THE DARK KNIGHT!!! it's just such strong potential foreshadowing that it almost HAS to be that now in my mind.

Even in English it's not "nonbinary shit". We can refer to people by they/them/that in the singular just fine, and have for centuries in English, within context. "That bastard" = "that demon king", for example. The rest are similar.
