Every other story will make that mutant form unnecessarily persistent despite MC being powerful. So it is a relief that this one did not go that route and had the MC take care of it quickly while we could still feel Shidou's side of the story. A properly placed, well-paced flashback, I'd say. Making Shidou kill the very family that accepted him, that goblin needs to be butchered.
