When you wingwoman so hard you nearly ruin the relationship you're trying to create. Tough scenes but hilarious nonetheless. That child has quite the imagination. It's so rare to have a child in these stories, so I'm glad they find ways to let her shine.

Song you is such a fun character in this. This chapter may be my favorite in the series.

I'm not sure if forced is the word I would use, but I see what you mean. Imo it's one of the oddest decisions to have the second-to-last chapter introduce a massive, relationship-buster of a misunderstanding only to resolve it immediately. Like, that super dramatic "I won't let you be together" followed by the chilling silence? That's like an entire angst arc worth of material alone. Then you have Song Li looking like she was about to go through her darkest days all over again, openly crying, but then...oh whoopsie jk and it's all good?

Idk if it was a clumsy way of reminding the reader that Song You's feelings are important to both of the leads, or if it was trying to show that they'll be able to overcome anything even if it means hard decisions like giving space, but I agree that the timing and pacing of it just felt super out of place

It was just being light, fun and silly, while also answering the important question of "how will the daughter react to her mother's now open new relationship that also happens to be gay?"

I don't think there was any point of this chapter that could have been taken as dramatic in any way. Just a silly, cute kid going through it and causing a bit of funny chaos.
