I think its understandable for him to not know she's okay. Like we can assume there's already been a substantial passage of time for her to have already "adjusted" in the settlement and be known by her neighbors and even the ladies of east mansion. the lord doesnt spend time with her personally and hes seen only improvements in her so he shouldnt get blasted for not realizing she'd be stressed

Part of me thinks that she said her daughter is dead to intentionally refuse his offer and it appears to me that he might have understood the meaning behind that sentence. Maybe she doesn't want to be more in debt to him and wants to find her daughter on her own. Perhaps.

Thank you for that spoiler, that makes me a bit disappointed in the MC though that she's just choosing to believe that her daughter is dead (unless her daughter was given away and she knows who she's with being taken care of well and pretending she's dead to protect her daughter?). Ahhh I can't wait for Webtoon to get more. Wish it'd be like Tapas and work to get caught up to raws (at least, it does that for quite a few popular series on Tapas)

by webtoon since it's free just waiting patiently unlike tapas which only has 3 to 5 chapters are free then the rest are paywall.

@LittlePuri ya, I wish Webtoons would work to catch up with raws though when the series is really popular. Like Your Throne or Remarried Empress or other super popular ones. I would also obviously want this be one to get caught up with raws that is one nice thing about Tapas, I don't mind if majority are behind paywall for awhile, but eventually made free like webtoons is nice.
