Not completely. If you think about it, most romcoms are actually quite simple and their base premise (if you take out the filler is) 2 people liking each other go out.

Frankly, in most cases, they are classmates, the same age and just like each other. Some of them add weird twists to drag sh*t out... but frankly, the just over complicate a simple premise...
