Thanks for the chapter!
That adventurer should be experienced enough to know not to believe everything he reads. On the other hand, the newspaper guild probably has so much influence and resources that their innocent victims have no way to protest. Seems even in other worlds the paparazzi outnumber serious reporters who have ethics, integrity, take time to verify and support information, and are in it for the story rather than the quick buck based on whatever is more likely to sell than truth.
Anyone else notice that the adventurer's companions, or at least those shown so far, are two harpies with hands on the end of their wings? Usually harpies are considered monsters with magic although these might be bird type beastmen. Either way looks interesting. Besides, between the kidnapping birds and the long drops they'd be ideal members since they can fly on their own without magic. In any case, MC likely not going to let someone die due to a misunderstanding. Curious as to why adventurer so desperate for help though considering experienced adventurers are used to dying several times. If ignore the pain and suffering aspect, can take her to spot can defend near door and try to treat her, if she dies she'll leave her stuff which they can pick up and meet the healed her back in town, if she lives and is stabilized enough can take her back through door to find a healer. Either way would seem more likely to be cheaper than offering all their magic stones for help. So why so worried?
