I love how she wants to build up her own power and genuinely loves her brother and is try to help him, and keeping him from becoming incompetent. I also love how her character is actually realistic and relatable as a young woman from our world, instead of what’s we usually see, where a modern person is reborn, adapts perfectly, and does nothing and makes no use of their knowledge. I love how she is actively trying to change and control her life, instead of ‘ I can not change the original plot/storyline, therefore I am helpless in this situation’. I love how she thinks ‘If one word from me could change the entire plot and make my sister’s book a hit, how much change can I accomplish by actually trying’. So refreshing. Like everyone else said. This is definitely my favourite isekai I have read so far, simply because of Alicia.

@Sparklepink12K Most people I have meet pronounce Alicia like Ah-lee-sha, a few people I know even gave me weird looks when I said Ah-lee-sia and went "Do you mean Alicia/Alisha?" Alisa is Ah-li-sa though not Ah-lee-sa, and Lucia can be Lu-sia or lu-sha or even Lu-thia, so there is no consistency

From what we know of the OG pre-isekai Alicia, she was a CEO, a pretty ruthless businesswoman who told her own sister to her face that her work is terrible. I have a hard time seeing a modern woman (who used to be someone influential and powerful) like that being willing to just marry a dude for power. I think she knows more than anyone that if you (powerless) married a powerful man, you'll be under his power forever and not his equal.
It's not just they should be independent adult women, it's also that generally in fantasy isekai settings, it's the men holding all the power. Yeah it's handwaved away as "the men loves their wives so much that it's almost as if the wives had the power", but in reality if the dude falls out of love and ditches the girl (the villainess's situation), she's powerless and without any wealth/good reputation.

As for the bigger plot, it’s becoming obvious that even before the Little Emperor took the throne, corruption was rampant. MC has a huge task in front of her if she wants to protect her brother and keep him relevant. The obvious answer seems to be getting on ML’s good side, but hmmm, I hope the author takes a more roundabout approach than that...

Well, then. I imagine that Ares will start trying to influence the brother to get in better graces with Alicia.

Also: what are you doing, comment section? Are you all forgetting that her second plan was to sleep with Lancelot to get him to marry her so she could use his connections to Ares, and money, to escape death? Which backfired into a technically better plan of just getting Ares to marry her, but she is fighting against that for some reason.

@DeadintheWater yeah she ultimately made this bad plan(admit it herself) to sleep with Lance, but went inside Ares's honey trap instead.

But I understand why she avoided Ares HARD tho, in the novel Alicia's past sis wrote, Ares was a huge manwhore(which i think, he still is to a lesser extent) and only loyal to Edith (common tyrant x fl trope in harlequin novel). But Alicia has some self awareness that he is genuine in his current act of kindness(?) right now. And imo Alicia is quite aware that the current Ares has no feelings towards Edith.

my gut said edith is small fry huh.. the bigger catch is the grand duke.. there's more than eye can see in the og timeline, perhaps Ares was simply a fool back then.. there's also a possibility that he treat edith as s*x tool only, since surprisingly in the present he is really patient when it comes to Alicia.. but we don't know that yet ahah.. it just hard to disgest their romantic meeting in the forest after knowing Ares's character now..

and the dissapearing lancelot was suspicious too.. the fallen nobleman, alicia's father.. the heroine before edith..
