Honestly I'm amazed there's a discord server dedicated to something that has had all of like 1.5 small story arcs so far.

I'd like to see this continue, but honestly it's not that clear to me where it's going and it hasn't been around long enough for me to be that invested in it.

The more recent chapters seemed to have a bigger focus on action and competition without a clear goal, pretty far removed from the initial unrequited love hook. Like it went from this impactful thing about dying before realizing love, into this thing where the cupids were fighting with each other for...some...reason. Because one of them was just kind of a dick I think?

I don't know, maybe that's what you love about it, but I can understand why it's not gaining that much traction.

I also think that withholding chapters because it's not selling enough is a really bad way to encourage sales. If I saw that there's a new series that seems interesting but is already on the verge of getting axed, I'd probably avoid buying it because of how likely it is that I'd be spending money only for the story to prematurely end. Reminds me of crowdfunding. It also creates an incentive for those who have invested to essentially become salesmen for it, such that their own investment pays off. Which is exactly what is happening here.

I don't like that this is floundering while that Daredemo manga is somehow popping off. The market is stupid. But I do feel that people are overselling this nascent story a bit. We really haven't seen enough to know it's going somewhere good and meaningful.

It's almost the only manga that isn't a oneshot that captivated me from the start. It may be just 1 volume so far but that's why it's commendable: the author succeeded at world-building in just a volume and showed us a LOT in a concise yet coherently intriguing way. I don't understand why you think the goals of the chapters or the overall story aren't clear. Our MC is given hope that she can have another chance at life. Can she actually do it? Will she still want to as the story progresses? What about the other cupids? The author indirectly introduces us to many interesting questions and possibilities. The chapter(s) with cupids fighting each other for "some" reason was, I believe, a way of building the characters' identities by introducing their thought processes and mentorship approaches. A fun "trailer" chapter, Koharu's backstory and Koharu learning to move on (I liked how "final" it felt and how Koharu was sadder than I/we or she herself thought she would be); there are only so many arcs you can have in 1 volume and the goals were made clear.

I feel like with Love Bullet we are rallying to buy copies because in less than a year we lost so many interesting stories.

It hurts so good that I find it odd that someone can come away from that chapter and only remember the fight that was already over in chapter 5.

Maybe because that was months ago, and the "short fight" was still like a third of the entire story out so far.

Maybe the author just wanted to throw a bit of everything into volume 1 to try to hook the widest audience possible, but the fight arc still seemed like a really awkward disruption of the plot to me.

Although I do see plenty of potential and want to see where this goes, I'm just not as confident as the others in this thread seem to be that it would be realized. How many manga out there have been disappointing because the potential teased by early chapters was never capitalized on? Honestly, that's the typical outcome. And that's because when most things are still up to our imagination, we imagine the most awesome and fulfilling possibility. But once the actual path is laid down, it rarely matches up with our hopes.

I'm not saying this story would end up being disappointing. I hope it doesn't. I'm saying people seem to believe it couldn't possibly do so, and that seems naive to me.

im so sad about sukeban to tenkousei :[ i want to be hopeful that at least this series gets to continue and the author has the chance to finish the story the way they want to

How is a manga like this struggling on sales its so fucking good the art and aesthetics and story and characters are all so peak??? People be insane.

For some context, the magazine LOVE BULLET is running in doesn't have really any advertising power. The author of Hanamonogatari (another manga that was axed 3 volumes in) mentioned that despite her first volume going viral and having good sales in the beginning, the Comic Flapper editor she worked with was a doomer about her work the whole time and the official Comic Flapper account never even followed her account or gave her any ads.

This is also a tragedy, Hanamonogatari was also so good and unique. Editors and magazines that can't support their artists suck ass, their job should be to support and promote the manga in them not be a doomer and ignore it completely.
