the fact that aki is forced to love someone else after all of this time, wow. and the that when koharu gets out of her human disguise, they're supposed to forget she existed. yet even so aki is like "where's that girl we were touring" and sakura doesn't know what she's talking about. maybe im delusional, but literally even after she's 'supposed' to forget koharu she doesn't. ANDDDDD in the earlier chapters, one of the guys around aki mention how great her recent painting was and how it was about cupids.

call me crazyyyyy, but the love aki has to koharu is so heartwarming and also soul crushing. ik she won't be endgame, but it's so sad how they sound like they would've been a great couple.

I discovered a love that continues to persist. Yet I am bound to make it subsist. A bullet, shot, a lover exchanged. Why does my heart still feel deranged?

I wonder if the feelings I got from this first arc are similar to when cupids get hit by their own bullets. I normally get over sad stories after an hour, but this time it's not going away and I'm not sure why. The only difference I can think of is that stories normally create sadness by building up a collection of happy memories before contrasting it with separation or death, but since this is happening at the very beginning, all the expected "childhood friends to lovers" potential is stolen by nothing but a freak accident and a super delayed revival. I end up agonizing over what could have been, and how the cupids could have avoided it all if they just timed their shots a little differently, while the main character is forced to move on and settle for potentially less. I want to speak to the Love Goddess's manager.
