Yeah, i think it's time for the Isekai hype to die, and let place to something else, everything now is generic in this genre.

As much as I love the Isekai genre (and keep hoping for something good!), it would be nice if one of these stories took a sharp left turn more often!

But of course not, because the self-insert needs an animal-eared child that they 'rescue' from being a slave (how many of these MCs actually end up releasing them? Really now, they're not fooling anyone. Buying a slave is only contributing to the problem as well). I also have to wonder if the authors don't include any other cool male characters as it would threaten the bland MC's position.

Seriously, actually write about an interesting character for once! I'd be so up for a story where we get the perspective from Dragon-dude and his escape from slavery!
Just aimless dreams for now I guess :/

@knightkamia , IKR, there are so many potential and possibilities with other kinds of companions/party members even if the character is a slave. I mean, even if the slave trope HAS TO BE a female for fanservice purposes (not that male character cannot be for fanservice but you know what I mean), there are so many other races/traits that the character could be, in a high fantasy setting, like harpy/dragonfolk/demon like succubus/dhampir because vampire might be too strong be a captured slave and less sunlight-resistant/oni/dwarf/nymph/etc...

So far, the female slave characters I've seen in isekai genre has mostly been submissive hurt of origins like elf or wolf beastfolk. I mean, even it has to be a beastfolk, there are so many different beasts within beastfolk category but it's always a wolf character wth? I don't understand why so many isekai authors have such limited and narrow creativity and obsession when it's a high fantasy world full of many other races, unlike Overlord, Re:Monster goblin, Slime, Kumo spider, like where are the non-wolf or non-elf other-races-stans isekai authors at?

The only isekai manga with male slave character is "Saikyou no Shokugyou wa Yuusha demo Kenja demo", but it's still a wolf character, who comes along with a female loli, and he doesn't even have a human face like most if not all of the main non-human female characters in isekai are.

Regardless, Imma read a few more chapters of this manga to see if the plot is actually interesting for now.

wait a minute, so in the previous chapter, the reason to buy a slave is because he needs someone to tell him about local society and customs? wouldn't it be more helpful to talk to regular people around town? and then in this chapter, he wants a traveling companion, so that means he's looking for a slave who has knowledge of many places? but he didn't do anything to determine whether the slave he chose has the information he needs, unless his eye does it for him. or his reasons for getting a slave is BS and just an excuse to introduce the new character.
