@feha Well, turning down such large amounts of gold, that have been offered by the elf herself and the bet money in such a way looked really bad imho. He should have fraised it differently, like she doesn't have to pay it, as the other side goated her into spending the 20 GP (but she jumped the gun herself, as it was nothing.) Turning it down IS his personal choice, but it still leaves a bad aftertaste, as other adventurers wouldn't have done it (and shouldn't be shamed for not doing so.) He could have said, that she can pay him out, after selling the monster materials and the repairs are done, when the guild has the ressources again. Nobody would have hated him for that. Also he should have insisted on that other party bet, if they ever turn up ever again, but as they seem to be wiped, he could acknowledge the gains from that to be 0.

Now that he declined it, they know he isn't a bastard that kills anyone for a minor amount of gold - but instead a dangerous criminal who kills anyone that looks funny at him..?

I think there's some confusion about what's going on. Franfilia is not paying him out of her own pocket. The gold was to come from the D rank adventurers who made the pledge with him since they lost. He turned it and the participation reward (5 silvers) down and offered it to the guild instead should they turn up to help pay everyone else. And it's not that he turned down the extra reward entirely. He was fine simply taking a cut of the pay instead of the whole thing to keep the guild from going broke. That however would cause the guild to lose face and thus leads to Franfilia's "alternate" reward. lol

Not to mention how scummy the optics would be if he took the guildmasters 20 gold after literally assassinating (in the publics eyes) his competition (presumably for said gold).

I don't know, I think it is far more likely that anyone else would think they died for the stampede, especially considering his actual score proved he would not need to cheat.

Of course, even if someone did think of him doing foul play it would be more likely to think he just knocked them out and left them defenseless and not directly killed them... Which is what actually happened, to be fair, but they were going to do the same and it was more a retaliation so...

Those were not pieces of chapters like in other manga, some of those were full chapters on their own but still numbered as if part of 14.

This manga has some potential, not counting the hilari-bad choice of gun. The art is pretty good, except for that ass-cleavage. I mean, that's the most in-your-face cheesy fanservice I've ever seen. And that's COUNTING bath scenes. But since they skipped it this time, maybe they realized how dumb it was. I have not read any source material for this, so I have no idea how it goes, so we'll see!

She did in the novel but the manga seems to be slightly different. Unless of course it was an error on the previous translators part. In the manga, she hasn't offered any incentive other than the 2 parties paying 12 gold from their own pockets if they lost on top of the regular rewards. Even in the novel it was only 10 gold coins so I honestly don't know how it went with so many different versions. lol But that's what it shows in ch 13. q.q
