Mommy Marimo is the one true route.
Sucks about the manga, I hope the anime can speed it up. All these chapters are just set up, it's not even the main story. Super Maid Angel Nanami never😭😭😭

I was wondering if we'll get the usual "MC walks in on the naked girl" trope with them living under the same roof, but, after this guy failed to realize the string left under the box of underwear WAS underwear, i'm 99% sure we'll get a scene like that.

...he is terminally ill. ... So I'm guessing he's still sick...
Well, isn't that the definition of terminal illness? :aquadrink:

Just so everyone knows, the mangaka/artist of this series manga is terminally sick(some type of cancer I believe)which is why there barely new chapters these past years and will continue to be like this for the foreseeable future.. Also the author refuses to find another mangaka.

What a nice hair tie. It's probably expensive. :pacman: Both the price, and the price to pay for wearing it.

Well Now that I know the circumstances, I'm significantly more fine with what I'm given rather than wanting more

I tho we would have a route where he meets different girls than the main cast, so is he gonna just cuck the MC?

While I'm also quite certain that we'll most likely get a scene like that (we already have the "walk in while sleeping in underwear" scene), the fact that MC could mistake that underwear for string that could reasonably be used to tie one's hair says more about Claris' unexpectedly risqué taste in underwear than it does about MC's awareness.

Oh, noes, a closed box of underwear. Seriously, this manga takes what a lot of other manga use for those "excitement" situations, and draw most of what would actually be exciting out of it, but still treat it as if they didn't.

Ah, yes, just use this random string that totally looks like a normal string he picked up from the floor to tie his hair.

There are various way a person deals with a illness like that, maybe the author doesn't get anyone else to give the mangaka a sense of hope and role/place.
If the worst comes to be and he dies at least he died doing what he probably loves, drawing.
That's kind of what I was thinking. I mean, it doesn't exactly seem as if he's forced to draw if he's too unwell.

What a nice hair tie. It's probably expensive. :pacman: Both the price, and the price to pay for wearing it.
But the question is, is it worth it? Although then it'd be better to actually know what he's doing, rather than blunder into these situations as usual.

Claris is a good deal more bold than would generally be expected, if MC could literally mistake a piece of her lingerie as a piece of string with which he could tie his hair.
Nah, he's just dense. If there was more fabric to it, he'd think it was a napkin.

So like the mangaka of Maou Gakuin No Futekigousha/Misfit of Demon Academy where he was sick and the author still kept him until he died and the author decided end the manga serialization afterwards instead of hiring a new one?

That still sounds pretty sad but I hope you are right.
That was really sad. Author doing that out of respect for the artist, even to his own financial detriment was pretty remarkable compared to how some creators/artists will literally write/draw anything for money these days in Japan. (Seen one h-artist go from writing/drawing the most wholesome R18 stuff out there to suddenly a few years ago doing a total 180 doing the most vile stuff imaginable because the same weirdo pays him to make his weird fetish stories into h-mangas for him.)

Tbh I doubt someone you're that close to would want you to harm yourself financially and not see the creation they worked so hard on see completion. Almost feels like you're not respecting them by leaving a work they put effort into unfinished. Must be a Eastern vs Western difference in how you'd honor the dead I'm unable to process.

I just hope they artist for this series able to enjoy working on this series in a way that is not burdensome to them for as long as possible.

There is also the contractual element which is quite prevalant in Japan and some other parts of East Asia and here in South East Asia.

Very rarely do series change mangaka and they would almost always stick to the original one they hire unless there is some good reason why they are unable to continue their work and this functions as a sort of job security to prevent some temparamental author from cutting them out.

However in the case of this series(Magical Explorer) and Misfit of Demon Academy it's quite clear that its authors and managakas have a lot of mutual respect for each other.

Oh totally agree on the contractual aspect. Just thinking of the aspect of a series that simply drops adaptation entirely. The notion that you cease working on the manga adaptation rather than seeking to compete the work they put that effort into is also rather sad as well. If I had a passion project I was doing I'd be sincerely glad if a friend sought to complete/bring it fruition after I died.

Its simply a difference in how they view the best way to be respectful in those cases where in the East they leave it "untouched" by others where maybe Westerners are more driven to complete as best they can (Silmarillion being compiled by Tolkien's son to give people a large collection of all the lord around the rings/Middle Earth comes to mind). Its unfortunate that almost each time I've heard of an artist dying, their works simply get dropped.

With Akira Toriyama in particular, there's just such a global audience for Dragonball with so much goodwill with fans (how many popular series exist with so little negativity as Dragonball? Can't think of any.) that it's going to be completed as best they can, and it feels like an anomaly. Most manga/adaptations seem to just get cancelled upon an artist death.

I genuinely hope the artist lives as fulfilling a time as they have left, and doesn't feel burdened by those seeking more, as this work is genuinely enjoyable. I think it might be the third series ever I'm interested in reading the novel version of, and I definitely wasn't expecting that from an Ecchi game parodying/doing a different take of the isekai into a porn game concept.

The Reincarnated MC is pretty cool imo as a character, and the magic fabric as a weapon is definitely out of the box for sure. He's actually relatable without being too over the top slapstick that the genre seems to be excessive with.
