What? After years of no scans, we get 2 scans days within each other. So is this a one off occurence or will you continue scanlating it?

This manga feels like a perpetual prologue. It gives the impression of an epic like e.g. Game Of Thrones but it just never… starts, you know? Was there any highlight that keeps you on the edge of the seat in these 35 chapters?
This manga is just too much „tell“, not enough „show“.
Which is a shame because the story has so much potential.

i also get the feeling that there is something big coming in the horizon and that the current situation in the continent is a ticking time bomb, but imo saying it is stuck in a perpetual prologue is like saying that the explosion is the only part that matters.

it's definitely not an action filled series (at least not yet), but the author been developing the characters and the worldbuilding and mainly the themes of living and dealing with differences and otherness, while also hinting said differences will become irreconcilable soon. for now, it feels to me like a slice of life series built on top of a house of cards

Did the official scans stop or something? Haven't read anything of this manga since the first volume, so I'm surprised to see scanlations of it again

Why so offended? It‘s not your manga, calm down.

It‘s also tagged with adventure, you know. But where is this „adventure“? Sitting in a library and skipping over the journey to the big city certainly isn‘t very adventurous. The author literally hinted at adventure but never actually showed it. Show, don‘t tell.

For the main character this absolutely is an adventure, and it is for the audience as well. You not liking it doesn't make it not an adventure. An adventure is about exploring new places and cultures, and meeting different kinds of people. That is what's happening and is what's being shown in every chapter. Right now we're still in the library phase of it so the focus is more on fleshing out what's there, but new elements are being regularly introduced.

I'm sorry that you did not pass the kafna exam, but that doesn't mean you can take it out on others 🙂

Idk if this chapter is lifted from the official English translated version or not just based on certain fonts and graphical elements, but more concretely it uses different art from the JP raw images from rawkuma like the mask design below, as well as including the bonus appendix pages in the credits

(I actually got into a lot of hot water for uploading ch4 using officially translated material, so this kind of upload surprises me)

I think maybe that's because ch 35 hasn't officially released so no reference plus they may have used their own volume releases and scanned it on their own hence the details being different. The mods won't do anything without proof as scanlations are the life and blood of this website.

I am just speechless, what a quality! In terms of both editing and translation. Even the sfx's are cleaned and translated which was not case in the official translation. I cannot even fathom how much time this chapter took to finished. Thank you so much for this incredible chapter @meganeko_scans . It was great to read toshokan several months early.

Just wanted to give you a head ups that maganeko scans has posted a comment on their latest chapter upload and is planning to complete the series scanlations. It isn't an official english translation but a high effort scanlation and please talk to them regarding the scans. They're a newbie to the scanlation community.

as far as I'm concerned, if his work is better than mine, I should be the one to bow out lol (especially if manganeko can outpace me)

but I don't see the problem with two scans of the same series given that there are differences between the rawkuma releases that I use and the final edit version of each chapter that manganeko uses

so the real winners are the mangadex readers, and if aggregate sites swipe my 'inferior' version just because I happen to upload them a bit sooner, then that's what they deserve; since I'd rather see this series be worked on by the better scanslator who'd do justice by its quality

though I contest I am trying my best to keep the story's specific vocabulary and particularities consistent, just as an example in Ch35 Theo says: "いただきます/thank you for the meal" which would be the common acceptable interpretation;

but in the official Ch16 Theo already made the same gesture and expression "Of this I partake" which I believe adds a bit more character and flavor text to their world's religions; something I noticed by meticulously re-reading each chapter, and was seemingly missed by manganeko (though reasonable people can argue that a few lines inconsistent w/ the official version hardly matter)
