@welcome2atlantis actually in another isekai there was a skeleton dude that used his ribs to catch spears and swords when he was alive, but being dead makes its easier apparently

Grabbing the sword with your skin muscles while it tries to slice into your skin-deep wound! Genius! :p

outlaws don't have rights and aren't protected by the state
killing them is as legal as exterminating pests

such is the world of pre-modern times

thats only true if you can PROVE THEY WERE AN OUTLAW! @jonsmth
like you need some kinda witness even in pre-modern. you cant just murder someone and be like "yup he was totally the one who did it because i said so"

you go to trial to prove a crime
but getting outlawed is already a sentence

outlawry is declared - not proved

well, i assumed the the Great Reaper was already declared an outlaw since he had been a fugitive and has been a menace for too long

that's the job of the knights (or not, because knights, who are probably also nobles, have better things to do... unless their lord is a weirdo or is extremely rich)
all MC going to do is report that he killed the Great Reaper (and tell them there's a body there)

only way MC will get into hot water is if someone identifies the dead guy as family or friend or something and then deny that the dead guy is the Great Reaper (and then accuses MC to be the Great Reaper)

Great Reaper or not, the body could have been of a random bandit or robber
at that point, nobody would really care as those types of people are usually outlaws
they could even just say that the Great Reaper killed the guy

@jonsmth actually no, thats not how bounty hunting/vigilantism works, you as the hunter have the burden of providing evidence to be examined, in this case (if i recall since we've been arguing about this for so long now xD) the guy literally exploded leaving behind no evidence that could be examined. For example traditionally you would present something like a severed head (hence the phrase "Bring me his head" which is a command phrase to go kill someone (not literally bring their head back but it used to)

We're talking about legalities here though
anyone can kill an outlaw whether it be for money or for self-defense
zero repercussions

MC doesn't actually care for the bounty - he just wanted to fight
it wasn't even mentioned that there was a bounty iirc
their actual job was collecting medicinal herbs

reporting the kill was just a side thought
it would have been for the convenience of the knights, who are having trouble finding the serial killer

@jonsmth yes but if you cannot prove that the body belonged to an outlaw u have committed murder, otherwise u could just go around killing beggars and stuff and claim theyre murderers.

The proof will be if the killings stop, and nobody identifies the body as anyone else
iirc, nobody knows how the Great Reaper looks like either

> otherwise u could just go around killing beggars
You can't really go around killing beggars and claim they're murderers though. People know beggars.

Besides, the Great Reaper died in what seems like to be the outskirts of the town, in an abandoned building that may as well be a bandit's hideout.

I don't mind twisted death cult logic, but something about that guy didn't quite make sense. Like...what was the starting point for this again? Bah, why argue philosophy when MUSCLES.

Don't know how they'll prove that guy was the reaper, but I assume the knights will either figure it out somehow or wait for the killings to stop.
Or we have our next arc because Yuri just killed a dude.
