Looking at the climate data for Niigata, one would indeed need to travel up the mountains to experience winter. Decide for yourself if that qualifies for four seasons.

No matter how much the author praises the town, it won't fool me, though. This manga is full of halfassedly filtered photo backgrounds, and it's not because the author loves Niigata. It's because this manga doesn't justify spending time to draw backgrounds. Apparently not even using 3D rendered backgrouds. I imagine these days a mangaka could use an AI service to turn photos into looking like manga style drawn backgrounds, but this manga hasn't got resources even for that.
