Man that hits hard. But it is all the reason why Nova will end up as the king of the many ears. I am just waiting for whatever the elders are worried about for him to show them that there is an alternative to this!

But do worry that Iruma might fail his test before the kid stands up for many ears people!

Okay but like...aint that kinda dumb?
Like, correct me if im wrong, shouldnt it be better to divulge into other talents than just the one your family is known for?
The fact that Nova exist proves that it will more than likely happen again, or even worse it can be forced upon one of them. Following the Elder's logic, if you arent able to use your talent your race is known for, then your worthless.
Its so obvious that Iruma will change the guy's thinking, thus allow the kids to start to learn magic again. Especially when Elder's point is just...stupid.

He may feel sorry for Nova, but yes, that is his view. He has been quite consistent in that, looking back at chapter 353 where he elaborated, so much so that he'd rather offend the grandson of one of the Three Greats (which he called inconceivable before), than risk them skipping their hearing training.
It's the safe bet for his race as a whole, as they are well known for their good hearing and low mana. I guess it'll turn out that both of these things can be attributed to their special and very one-sided training.

It's one thing to focus on their natural talents, but it's even more suspicious that they wouldn't want to cultivate secondary skills like magic. The adults of this society fear that the next generation will suffer like they did, unaware that they're contributing to that suffering by not allowing them to develop themselves.

YES! I CALLED IT!

Nova doesn’t have the same hearing skills as the rest of his clan. That’s why he wants to learn and grow so he’ll have some value, since the many eared can Literally do nothing but hear well

This also creates a great parallel to Iruma who s going to become the demon king despite not being a demon.

It’s almost as if years of being treated as an inferior species whose only talent is hearing well would slowly warp a group of people to feel they can only be reliant on their singular talent.

Also topical news (will officially be announced Sunday so keep it on the down low)

Unrelated but I almost jumped thinking Act Age is back and was preparing to write an essay on it. Until I read the entire article.

Don't make assumptions just by looking at pictures, kids.

So Nova would be somewhat almost deaf in one ear.

It is extremely difficult to change the customs and traditions of a culture and adapt it for today's society.

However, I believe that Iruma and Nova will somehow manage to change the mentality of adults and the leadership of the rabbit tribe. And the option of revealing that he is a fragile species in the demon world (that is, he is a human) is not an option.

But just as Rome was not built in a single day and Iruma will not build you a kingdom overnight as you snap your fingers.

Hearing all were good for? If I was nova I’d grab old assholes shirt and say to his face “You don’t get to decide OTHER people’s capabilities and dreams old fart!”

He can give up on any potential in himself. But he has no right to decide what others talents can and can’t be it’s up to the individual if they have a skill or not.

Poor Nova.

Shouldn't they be letting the younger generation learn more skills? Having great hearing is wonderful, but having others skills will increase chances of surviving. The world is changing and the many-ear race needs to change with it.
