On thinking on it Ameri kinda looks like a Japanese name doesn't it? When the rest of the demon kids (besides lil furry samurai boy) don't normally have any jp influences.

Edit: from a quick Google it seems like her mum named her after the sky, and the vastness of what she could be. Oh my goodness...😭

I mean, there are also a lot of references to Christian demonology and tons of Jewish stuff (I'm firmly convinced that Nishi is Jewish, at this point. If you know, you know), but most of it is just flavour, themes and imagery.

I am not saying you're wrong, just that Garp is Samurai Memes: The Character (surface level), so we can kinda put that off to the side when talking about it.

I know that the author used magic as a world-building shortcut to loop in side characters, but I was kinda hoping they woudl just rawdog it. It's really not that diffuclt for two intelligent creatures to teach eachother their language. Like put an iraqi and a chinese person together , two langagues that don't sound like each other at all, and give it a few weeks and both we'll be able to comminucate with each other .

I really like how they did it in the movie Arrival

i really try to be respectful and i just assume, that you did not fully read my comment or that i expressed it not good enough.

The story up to this date strongly implies, that this human-woman is Iruma's Mom, because she is basically the female version of him.
Do we know it for sure? NO
Secondly Henri seems to have a strong affection to her and with this chapter we can also strongly assume that it is also romantically.

So to sum it up like many other comments over the last chapter, the POSSIBILITY that they are family-related is no far stretch.
AGAIN it is just a possibility, because up to date there are signs, but AGAIN i still hope this is just baiting for a other plot.

Iruma and Merize look similar. Thats it. Nothing at all implies they are related. Its just meant to show Henri and Ameri have similar tastes.

Iruma's mother looks nothing like Merize and as far as we know Iruma had no other relatives.

Yeah, I don't see this series suddenly having the most horrible end of their relationship, or the worse option.

Also Henri makes absolutely no note when meeting Iruma that he looks like this woman that he was in love with.

So to the characters they dont look enough alike for people, even one who knows both are humans who somehow got to the demon world, to think they are related.

It makes no sense and I cant believe people are even toying with the idea at all.

also maybe between humans it's easy, but I think they like to depict different-species-interactions as like. Human Meets Animal. the difference is too vast compared to Iraqi-to-Chinese, no equivalents basically. from all this talk about devils having the instinct for doing evil and wanting to devour humans; I think the author's angle is that it's very unlikely, almost impossible or rare for humans to ever be able to talk with something this wild, except you're the Caim family or using their magic.

slop tends to have negative connotations, yes, your guess is not too far from being wrong. but it's just a buzzword at the end of the day. it could also just mean "I don't normally view heterosexual / hetero-romantic content as particularly good or up to my tastes", and with the followup that it's "good" in that literal comment, you can assume that the OP was just joking around and still appreciates it.
