I'd say that true or false is much better than multiple choice for testing specific things, but that is likely getting subjective.

It's not complicated at all. There are two choices and one is correct, then it's no less than 50% chance to being correct. You can only go up from there, never down.

Tests with fixed answers are easy to make and check...but they are completely useless as tools to educate. Guessing may not be the best way to pass them (obviously), but you CAN pass them with just guessing. As such, they don't really test your ability as much as your luck for when your ability is lacking.
