But aah I couldn't wait for this chapter to be translated, I wondered what excatly the spirit said to Sauro (I could only understand half with my poor Japanese) and what he said when he pulled the sword first... So he's not just the chosen one, it's confirmed that he is worthy Captain America style huh nice, and he pulled it out without realizing what it meant so that Arsenio could look at it better ^^ that's lovely.

And I'd be proud of Rei wanting a fair rivalery (and for making it clear to the cis straght dude that gender issues are no joke), but at the same time that kid keep using their cute appearance and their tears to get what they want, throwing temper tantrums sometimes even, and that's not cool arf, please be more mature like this more often young master.

I love this manga. That said, for how wonderful it's messages about gender and attraction are, it's very explicit about only drawing "straight" relationships (Sauro/Nyono, Lloyd/fem!Eric, now male!Rei/Nyonyo). Basically it talks a lot, but doesn't show it much.

It's not a criticism, just an observation that makes me a little sad.

the moment he put it back in place cracks me up.... I've spent time thinking the same thing Sauro did while waiting for the chapter... I really can't guess how these tangle of a relationship is going to unfold. In a way, the bond btw Sauro and Arsenio is definitely stronger than what Rei has but I feel like forcing Arsenio to become a girl for Sauro is a thing that Sauro would never push for. In the end I could see Sauro letting Arsenio have a relationship whilst staying good friend but it broke my heartttttt knowing that this is the most likely possibility.

my fantasy is just to see if Sauro could even initiate anything romantic with male!Arsenio .... then my ship might have a chance.... man just kiss your friend and make him bi completely please Sauro.

@Masterfisk @Tadakyuni ah I know what you mean about how the pairings are usually shown mostly as het (Lloyd definitely kept kissing and groped Eric while he was already changed back in his male form though, but yeah what you said, and Eric already looks like a woman even in his male body), that's why I found that short official VN Ceiye posted the other day so interesting, it was nice to be able to see these little illustrations:

@Tadakyuni Unfortunately it seems like this series is limited in how it addresses queerness. Found out that this is published by a company owned by Square Enix, so I'm not exactly surprised if they stay away from getting too close to male/male relationships.

@Georg-Prime I'm hoping that it will get addressed later since the prequel is about the two and rn it still needs Arsenio's pov to resolved. It makes sense where they both coming from though so far they both attracted to it being cis pair and the alternative is complicated for them bc of social norm..... I can't wait for it to get expand upon and see how the author will resolve this.
