Surprise that party still doesn't got treated as bandit for taking traders food and have price on their head yet (although they have been blacklisted by companies)...well, I guess when that happen, they will probably think something like "those no-good coward just try to stop us doing right thing"....

Agreed, when they mentioned that they raid caravans, they lost all credibility.

I already hate these justices cunts I really do. If this was overlord I would love to see their reaction when their ideology didn't mean shit in the end.

So... 'justice' otakus? It doesn't help that they remind me too much of Itsuki from Rising of the Shield Hero. It sounds more like that they do things based on convenience rather than righteousness. If they were willing to be moral, they would be paying for goods, then distributing it. Right now, they are just an asshole version of Robin Hood at best.

So they're robbing merchants? Hahaa, you have a perfect reason to beat them to half-death (or completely to death, whatever rocks your boat) and then take them to guards to become criminal slaves! What are you waiting for?! Act now!

I've also never understood why MCs tend to stay silent and act all shocked that someone disagrees with them. Just tell them to "mind their own business and go die in a ditch on their own". Should either incite them into attacking you, or stop talking to you. Both count as a win in my book (since if they attack you, you can "deal" with them in "self defense", and if they stop talking to you, well, you don't have to listen to their self-righteous bs).

What an annoying pieces of sh*t. Helping is nice and pretty but the kid was obviously a thief. Sure, beating a kid is not good but letting the kid go unpunished is not good either. What's worse, they're stealing goods from the merchants who are just doing their business legally.

F*cking self-centered, short-sighted pricks.

Oh god. They remind me of the stupid prince from Koushaku reijou... Just multiplied threefold.

The mind boggles at the thought of this much "faith".

I wonder if that "Ryuuto" guy is another Japanese person reincarnated into the isekai world. Not only does he have a Japanese name but he also seems to have the typical op-isekai-mc morals and worldview. The part about them raiding caravans makes me doubt this guess though, normally the isekai mc finds the perfect solution to the problem rather than being forced to break the law.

I'm guessing they'll also take part in that exercise.

Hopefully they won't actually be in charge.

writing other heroes in isekai is like admitting that you couldn't even write your own generic isekai so you had to steal a dude from someone else's lmao

The justice party is right, but undermined by their hypocrisy and long term effectiveness of their actions.

The culture:
This is not the present time/culture so beating a kid half to death for theft might be a justifiable action in this place. No one else is interfering or saying anything, so this is probably true.

The theft:
The boy was revealed to have indeed stolen the goods ( a magic crystal), and is there for guilty of the merchants accusations. There was no misunderstanding here. And it wasn't food, so you can't say it was out of necessity for survival.

The initial argument of Justice squad:
The merchants didn't need to beat the child, they could have just retrieved the item and turned him into the authorities when they caught him. This is true but depending on the laws this may or may not be worse for the child (execution and chopping off hands are examples of real life punishments).

secondary argument of justice squad:
The MC had the power to act but chose to act as a spectator instead. "noblesse oblige" those with power have the obligation to use it. If you have the means and capability to do some good, you should do it. I might personally believe in this philosophy but it is a matter of personal opinion and should not be forced onto or expected of others. Because everyone has their own opinion and circumstances, and the right to choose how they act.

Outcomes and knowledge of justice group activities:
The party might feel good about what they did here but it doesn't change anything. The boy survived this situation, but he stole for a reason ( whatever that may be). So he will likely steal again since he failed here. And the merchants are still going to beat him if they catch him again. They failed to solve the underlying problem, and acknowledge that the kid was at fault here too. Taking food and distributing it to poor villages is noble cause ,but the decision was the merchants to do as he was the owner. If he was unwilling, then they should have bought it from him. Because otherwise it is not charity, but theft.

Their accomplishments are meaningless, so there for are their words an actions.

@Ovdose that comes down to the writing, this what it sounds like when a third-party tries to Robin Hood, without the support of the community. Doesn't matter that the food, or money, goes to the poor and needy, that group still stole it, and every one receiving it is paying for it some way.

Justice-douches really suck. Now that kid is going to have it even worse next time he gets caught. They didn't even help him for his sake, just to uphold their precious 'justice'. The actual just thing to do would be to pay for the stolen goods, and get the kid a job so he doesn't have to steal again. But nope, too busy bitching about Minato not helping rather than actually helping themselves.

Basically. They even have the accompanying hypocracy. One moment its "stealing is wrong" and "hand the kid over to the guards". Then next moment its "Lets steal from the traders to make charitable donations because that isnt a crime which we should hand ourselves over to the guards for. We have the strength to force our opinions, unlike some little kid".

Blue Justice? ROFL!! That's got to rank pretty high on the lame-ass scale.
Heck, it's almost as lame as that baboon president's Space Force.

idiots who think blind kindness wont just make everything worse in the end
how many of those helpless people they give food to are actually helpless and unable to afford food?
how many of them are bandits out for a free meal? how many turn around and sell that food back to the very merchants that sold it to the wanna be hero in the first place? how many take food only to have it taken from them when they leave cause they weren't strong enough to keep it?
they saved a thief, what do they think is gonna happen, that he got saved once so he wont turn around and immediately start stealing again?
the sheer stupidity of those holding the ideal that if they fix what looks like a problem in front of them it will fix everything wrong ever
