Wait, you're dropping the series due to a lack of proofreader?
I'm a bit confused as I would have thought that this was the easiest position to fill. I mean, I don't think you even need a permanent member to do this. You could just release a chapter with [requires proofreading] in the title and I'm fairly certain people would happily read it, provide their feedback and the chapter could then move on to its final release. Call it an early access release.

But I might just be very wrong about when the proofreading is done? It might be more logical for the proofreading to be done before the text is actually edited into the chapter so a chapter to proofread is actually just the raws + translated text? I mean, it still feels like you could crowdsource this part.

Well, in any case, thanks for the translation you've done. :)

Lack of proofreaders? Just release it without it as others have pointed out and pretty sure the readers will proofread for you...

@Bloodprince I’m half expecting her to just throw a tantrum about how things should simple and black and white while she’s hurling fireballs regardless of collateral damage. They’re clearly the kind of group to not plan ahead and then say something like “it couldn’t be helped” when things go wrong because they had to do the knee jerk reaction of what felt right.

Limiting your search to proofreaders that can read Japanese as well is what's tough to find, but if you focus the recruitment on people who can clean up translations on the already-translated side of the scanlation process, then isn't that good enough? Those kinds of people are easy to find.

@All-is-fine I partially disagree with that statement, while i do think that justice is grey, i don't think theres a darker grey and a lighter grey, everything is just grey, a medium tone. everyone has a different sense of justice. as some people would say, everyone has their own brand of justice, there is no "right" justice, only your justice. the justice that is usually widely accepted and seen as "right" are the ones that the majority believes in. but yeah, no black and white, all grey

Who saw the idiot hero group getting used by a clever shady group that knows how to cover their under the table dealings? How likely do any of you guy think these dumbasses will learn anything of worth from this debacle when it blows up in their face?

@Vengeance22 I mean, if you can even call a lot of that proofreading. At least half of the ones that will have anything to say about the errors will probably just complain in a general sense rather than even point out the specific errors they noticed.

@Glomoro Still better than nothing no? At least they will wave a flag to the translator saying: "Hey there is something wrong here, you should recheck it." And then the other half will point out the exact problem.

@Kireato that's an editor that you're thinking of. A proofreader will look through a translators work and make sure that the translations are accurate. An editor reads through the English text and make sure it makes sense in English.
