that's what the outro page said. It didn't seem so much axed, as this was how far they really meant to go in the manga adaptation. It's one of those serializations that acts as publicity for the novel.

For the most part, their relationship was stagnant. And their adventures meant nothing. Just some random quest. The only thing memorable was that a girl from the hero's party wanted him back.

Their relationship grew from "misery loves company" to "I love you".

Their adventure was the impetus for that growth.

This is the worst kind of manga out there, when they only serve as teaser/ad for a LN.
Because it is intentionally cut short.

When a series is axed, it is generally because it is not popular enough to merit continuation. That's fine. Not everyone can be successful. Wrap it up as well as you can and end it.

This is made to be incomplete. This is made to end on a non-ending. This is meant to attract attention to another medium.
F... that.
Commit to the manga format or don't start it.

You can call it an Ad for the LN, but the LN only got 1 volume in 2019, it adapted all of that, but the rest is on the WN, which of course author haven't finish and never will, this won't get you to go buy the LN because there is nothing else there lmao, even the artist tell you to go read the WN

From what I heard with Black Bullet, it's not that he doesn't care, but he got demoralised by people trashing the series when the anime came out.

Thanks to the scanlators for their great work on this series.

It was a cute story. Nothing mind-blowing, but cute. And well, sexy. I want to see what this artist does next.

To people complaining about the axe: I'm not surprised at all. Plenty of manga adaptation end sooner than this. We're already lucky that a very niche web novel got 6 beautiful manga volumes. The fights in this last volume were also quite satisfying.

Hmm, looking at the web novel... 108/146 chapters have been translated, and the translator is still active. But the novel itself ground to a near-halt in mid-2021 with its last update in early 2023. Looks like the author moved on to some bunny girl-themed story at that time... at least they're still active, it gives me slight hope that they may return to this series later on.

Edit - For those interested, the manga's story leaves off at chapter 78 of the WN. https://fanstranslations.com/novel/...ister-of-a-former-enemy-executive/chapter-78/ . The last scene between the two of them talking about love is from chapter 80.

Look like an excuse. There's always a few people being negative or insulting whatever you do in your life, stopping writing your story for a few random fucker is weird.
Also, the anime was quite well received, so he most certainly got more possitive message than negative one.

This is why I got into the habit of checking the comments of the END chapters before starting to read a finished series. About 80% of them end up being axed ones...
