Hahaha that's what I was thinking. Honestly I was 0 invested in her bs sob story and for the people saying that she's "a good girl at heart", think about how she decided to apologize to the MC: by spreading her legs "EVEN if out of pity"

Yeah, it was one of the weakest "you said something I didn't mention" gotchas I've seen. That doesn't work if you're saying what's the most expected detail. People assume, and that was a natural assumption.

She said her brother was sick, so the medicine she was given could be a cure for the disease. The catch here was that MC knew her brother was poisoned.

It feels like some weird statement that things are different there, but without any context about it or backing of anything resembling reality. Looks normal to me.

I 'think' what appears to be hair are in fact these flat ears, ie. something akin beagle's.

Darn, I remembered why I don't read the comment sections. People can really make up all sort of reasons to hate something or someone.
Kind of funny and sad, how the smallest thing that swayed from people is fantasy could trigger such a response.

What "attitude"??? Other than stealing once when in a desperate situation, she literally did nothing wrong and was never rude or bad...

You have bad reading skills. She said that she was doing a lot of criminal stuff. Contraband, stealing, robbery all the way up to killing but she refused only at killing and that was when he forced her to have sex with him. She was given a choice to kill or to have sex with him.
Her stealing the sword wasn't her first job, it was just the first she failed and he became more brutal during sexual acts.
Rude or bad? I think it's quite rude to smile and act all friendly while literally backstabbing someone and leaving them for dead.
And as for Bad it was clearly stated that she did many bad things. Re-read this chapter please.

Also truly disappointed at anyone (i know you don't care, i don't care either) who is okay for accepting this girl.
She did many more things than fuck over MC (somehow a lot of people's reading ability degraded for this moment, selective memory much?)
Author dug their own grave with adding her to his harem. (Basically before that it was just a wish fulfillment manga that was going okay, with this addition author screwed his golden path)

With simple analysis and not thinking with your "head" you can easily understand that she is flawed. How many lives did she ruin before MC freed her? I was okay (kinda not really) with MC simply killing the lord. But instead he goes a whole mile also to help her brother and even sleeps with her, basically adding her to his harem.
A person with his character should have killed her and as last jest helped her brother and provided some money for him to grow up. OR the least out of character thing to do (but virtuous) - Save her brother, sign a contract with her that after her brother becomes self sustaining (basically age when people become adults in this world) and force her to give up to city authorities by confessing all her wrongdoings in the past.

Stealing MC's sword and gem was just her latest job and her first failure. The pity fuck thing just cemented classical troupes, in manga beautiful girls can't get punished (except in sexual way). For a beauty author will always find a "reason" not to take punishment, be it their lousy backstory or some compelling leverage.

Spoiler: Offtopic about used goods women (Not applicable to Frei (the girl who backstabbed))

EDIT: Also on the first page someone was "amazed" that people don't complain her being "used goods". It's not a fucking Japan, i almost never see anyone bitching about girls being used goods and if they do there is almost always a sound logic behind.
Like a girl who fucked over half the male population in town demands some extreme courting and a ring on a finger....Yeah doesn't sound right.
I would rather never have a women in my life ever again than to court and marry a town slut(free) or sex worker. Even if you personally are okay with that and don't believe that many partners ruin you (pair bonding(hormones), complacency of experience(memory), trauma and etc.), then at least believe in ability of other people to hate you and spread rumors. People and commune will use your partners past to smear your current reputation. Like a saying goes save the world many times but fuck a horse once and everyone will remember you as a horse fucker......Same goes if your partner will have a bad past, not to mention snarky comments from guys who were intimate with your partner (just an easy way to hurt you or throw you out of balance).
