Quite lucky that he hasn't asked any questions that he didn't retract, that she couldn't answer in head nods.

These WN spoilers kin

It's interesting how plot kinda diverged from WN. Which makes me think the plot thread raised in WN won't ever be addressed. A bit spoilery summary:
In WN his village is destroyed by same sickness as the one they just arrived to. And later it is shown that cause is water pollution caused by all the undead that have arose in the forest due to MC cursing them to death, making her basically directly responsible for the death of his village. So yeah, manga kinda tones it down a fair bit comparatively. Can't say they are wrong to do so, given general tone of the story.
That does sound more interesting as a narrative hook and good potential to be set up for a future plot point.

I REALLY LOVE how her main method of saving people is by puking at them. It's pretty understandable but at the same time its so funny.

Love this series, hope it get adapted into anime one day.

That is interesting to know thanks.

It'd be interesting to see this moral dilemma and how she would behave for her reckless behavior earlier.
Given how it's changed in manga, I doubt it'll be addressed in WN.
Huh. This is your fault for being born, REPENT you monster is a hell of a tone to go for.
Well, WN didn't go that far, and while so far she didn't realize that it's her who caused the massive surge in undead, she did decide to somewhat proactively fight it. And while reveal that she's responsible for all the undead will likely be a plot point, I have mild suspicion author initially didn't realize the implications between "my village died from same sickness this village has", "cause of sickness is river pollution caused by undead in the forest upstream" and "monsters that died from a curse (and mandragora scream IS a curse) eventually reanimate as undead" would lead to "she's responsible for destruction of his village".
That does sound more interesting as a narrative hook and good potential to be set up for a future plot point.
I'd say manga didn't do a good job at relaying a rather important plot point that pivots the story A LOT. It's a pretty core thing, and would make reading further chapters more understandable.
1. Mandragoras instinctually scream when startled, hence why she made a "lid" on her throat in order prevent it.
2. The way she made it also cause her to smile. Hence [screams internally] = smiles outwardly. Dunno if TL or manga itself, but it wasn't explained well. "maintains a smile" is not exactly it. She smiles more when screaming.
3. Hence she's startled -> instinctually attempts to scream -> lid prevents that and causes her to smile more -> people misunderstand. Is a major plot point in many events lol.

Weird question, will she be able to talk normally? Or is that just not yet?
Yes and no. So far in WN (and TL is almost back to back with JP) she can talk only with one person due to their resist to curses. And because of her first skill (see "ping" sound effect in ch1 when she just got pulled) - her voice propagates very far, and thus she can do so only when nobody else is around or inside a soundproof room.
