Because Yuki doesn't WANT to kill anybody. He doesn't care about being a demon lord, conquering humanity, or any of the other baggage that normally comes with the title. For him it's all about making his dungeon a comfortable and safe home for himself and his wives/friends. Jaymar thought the king was a bad ruler because he couldn't prevent his underlings plotting and scheming behind his back and was going to allow Nell to be forced into a political marriage she didn't want, so Jaymar was pushing things along to get the king replaced and put someone competent enough to pull off such a scheme in power instead. Then Yuki showed up and turned the entire scenario ass-over-teakettle and Jaymar is satisfied that even with a "weak" king the nation will have the military might of a demon lord to defend it if the king can't head off a foreign invasion for whatever reason and all the other plotters and schemers are either caught out or scared back under their rocks with the other vermin. At least for the next generation or two the kingdom is secure, so Jaymar's got what he wanted.
Lots of assumptions without basis. Firstly, while the MC isn't a crazed psycho, it was also pretty clearly stated that he does not mind killing people. In earlier chapters it was actually explored as a part of his former humanity that he simply lost and now it comes casually. Secondly, nothing points to the plot being about the king, as far as we know it was either entirely about replacing Nell with that puppet Manuel or getting the MC on their country's side. We don't know which, because it's unknown if the info about him was already in their possesion at the timme it started. This is why I described the whole thing in terms of 2 scenarios (and why both are nonsense). You assume the first one.

Jaymar after nearly getting killed by Yuki multiple times, especially the Choking: F yeah, This is totally the Guy I am looking for!

As much as I despises Jaymar's PoS way of doing it, have to admit, it ended up working pretty well for his insane goal. In a sense, making himself the bad guy for Yuki to solve also increase Yuki's reputation to the kingdom too

Full truth (Demon King)? :worry:
Stretch the truth (Masked Hero)? :worry:
Option 3? :shamihuh:
The full truth isn't that he's a demon king. It's that he's a human from another more technologically advanced world who died and got reincarnated as a demon king in this world, so not only is he incredibly powerful, he can create otherworldly marvels like chocolate and electronic video games.

The novel goes into more detail on this.
There were a couple of possibilities that needed to be tested for. First and foremost, what are Yuki's true feelings for the hero? this needs to be a known quantity before shit hits the fan because if it's merely some possessive greed his response to danger would be to simply lock her up in his dungeon regardless of her wishes until the danger is over. the hero is a strategic asset and they need to know if she can still be relied on in times of need.
Secondly, you are making it seem like he failed. he successfully gathered all the traitorous elements into a single faction and then had them commit treason in a mostly harmless way, essentially fabricating a legitimate reason to arrest the lot of them.
Lastly, I believe he also mentioned his thoughts on a genocidal response, though I might be misremembering. been a while since I read the novel. anyway, even that was within calculations. if yuki starts killing people over something as minor as this, he simply is not compatible with humanity and war would be inevitable anyways. as he is now, all of humanity combined could still stop him as long as Lefi stays out of it. if he accumulates more power and only then starts killing people , there isn't much that could stop him from humanity's point of view.

The main problem I have with this "plan" is twofold. Firstly, it suddenly pivots from "super patriot" and "protecting the country" to "all of humanity united can still stop him". What about the kingdom the dude supposedly loves so much that he's ready to commit high treason to steer in the right direction? It'll be smoking ruins long before the world even etertains the notion of uniting against the MC. This is a theme with this character - to even begin making sense of his claims one needs to reach for the absurd and it only pokes more holes in the overal plot. Secondly, it still assumes that when everything goes as he'd like it to, the MC will just back off, let bygones be bygones and NOT dispose of him and everyone related, just to be on the safe side that no more plots against Nell can find fertile ground anytime soon (as it was only his influence that made it happen). It's ridiculous, the "protection" he offered for her is just protection from himself and his lackies. It's essentially a veiled threat from a guy absolutely not in any position to be making those.

Really like this one , but the chapters either feel too short or the plot to slow , or maybe a combo. Like the whole arresting of the traitors etc should have been a chapter or two. Its been a while since I read the novel , but feel like it has a better flow as a novel.

I kind of feel as bad as Jaymar is, he is one of those guys, if he is on your side its worth it. Especially since MC isnt really a direct leading type, he is more the absolute monarch with broken powers, but needs competent advisors to run day to day stuff.

"Wassup. i am the demon lord and i am going to marry your daugther... btw i already got a wife but i don't mind to add MORE!"
will it go well with them at all?
wives.
Though not official yet because of her age, he's practically married to the little vampire, her twin slime and the wolf girl.
Possible future wives also include the goat/sheep girl and the phantoms. Not sure how the latter will work though...

Without real spoilers: The source material seems to be moving away from the vampire being a romance candidate and more of a daughter.

With spoilers:
Well before the latest translated WN chapter, Yuki is married to Lefi, Nell, the wolf girl, and the sheep girl. The phantoms, slime girl, and vampire girl are all seen and treated as daughters and the harem seems to no longer be growing. At this point, the king's daughter in 10 years time has the best chance at being the 5th wife (best != likely).

huh, for some reason I thought the hero was also isekai'd... guess I was just assuming things. :aquadrink:

edit: actually, she has the title "Drifted Girl" when she's introduced in ch17... so Maybe I wasn't assuming things??

So it must be one of the following....
  • "Drifted" has a different meaning from what I thought.:wtf:
  • The author forgot.:slap:
  • Yuki can traverse worlds. :korone:
