I really don't see how this can have a satisfying final chapter given this setup. Shame that it couldn't see everything through, as there was a lot of buildup for what seems to be a rushed payoff.

Yeah it's hard to tell where it wants to go, now feels like a good setup was let down

Funny, because this is somewhere close to the end of act 1 of the webnovel(act 1 has 71 chapters, act 2 has 24).
Not that there's much to find, light novel stops abruptly at 2 volumes(volume 2 released in 2020) and webnovel similarly stops abruptly at end of act 2, also last seen in the wild in 2020..
