It kinda has a childish interpretation of edge, like it has all the trappings on something edgy but it's rather shallow edge. Like an unpleasant paper cut. Time will tell if this is simply due to an inadequate author or just how the tone is supposed to be set.

I think at least the name Hugin is more a reference to one of Odin's ravens, since he is wearing the raven looking mask. Of course the Yugioh card is problably also named that because of the raven so in the end it comes down to the same thing

Mikey's curse is a meme born from a comment of a person with the nickname Mikey (who'd have thought, huh? lol) under a chapter of a manhwa called "Player Who Returned 10000 Years Later" iirc
Basically, MC summoned a dragon/demon, saved from some "adventurers/hunters", healed it and took it under his care. Mikey commented under the chapter:

(btw, don't look at the "a month ago", this comment has 1year+ lol)
Too bad the very next chapter, the dragon transformed into a loli character.

After this event, whenever a creature transforms into a loli, the community "curses" Mikey and his comment and it became a famous meme. Mikey's curse is basically the tendency of creatures in mangas/hwas/huas to turn into loli characters

My comment was referring to the fact that we "got Mikey'd" the first time with the wolf and now a second time with the dragon
