This is a mild, general spoiler about the intelligence of this story
The characters in this series are generally competent and logically consistent. So unless this adaptation goes completely off rails, you won't see tropes where everyone is extremely dumb except the MC, or only the MC can actually do their job. It's honestly one of the refreshing points about the series.

After all this achievement, how did our MC found himself as a crowd control for the Hero?

Very nice chapter. The art style is so good.
That "Go forward!" followed by "Yes!". Damn.

I think the characters are looking quite solid. But i dont think mc has the qualification to give all those advises.

The mc literally had just given them a "new" formation but isnt the thing about formation, the practices? Maybe theyre already familiar with a similar formation that they practice but if the phalanx formation is unfamiliar to their world (But that dont make sense because theyre in a world where they actually have wars so their war tactics and innovations should be really solid), it is actually crazy that theyd instantly apply it into their tactics.
Its like giving the conscripted peasant bows and arrows to shoot. Giving them rocks to throw would make more sense.

Honestly yeah wouldn't that formation be essentially common sense anyway? It's getting to me why it would be seen as innovative. I'll turn my brain off for that since it's still a lot better than mindless isekai.

yeah absulutly agree. When he ordered a faint retreat I was like... Wtf. On foot? By a force that is a milita? And includes slaves? Even the legions didn't try such manouvers and the only time I think such a thing was actually implemented was by Hannibal. And his strategy was to have enough of his center die.
