While I'll agree to the broad sentiment of the latter half there, I imagine whatever the first two put down would likely be seen as "normal" rather than "poor."

And while there is no scale legend affixed, I'm going to toss in the possibility that he's also seeing distances that are between 2 to 5 times further. But that's something of a Pin The Tail guess -- a pleasant surprise if it's right, but far more likely to be way off the mark.

and then when obvious female love interest is in danger he will awaken the magic power boner of the gods and save the day.

why didnt grandaddy seal it to 100 instead of 0? i dont fucking know its gonna be some bullshit reason like it builds character from Calvin & Hobbes

I'm just happy that there actually is some sort of magic item that is used for detection, and mapping, that "normal" people can use, and the main characters isn't the only one with some level functioning detection magic/a mapping skill.

He can use other people’s raw magic or spells as raw material, his body is just incapable of producing magical energy due to his constitution

Okey to explain it simply for you kids.

What they means when they say he can't do magic, is that he can't generate magic.

That means to a normal person that would be the end of the conversation about their ability to do magic.

But he has studied magic to fantastical degree so he can manipulate others peoples spells.

That means that he can't do magic, he can do other people's magic.

Imagine people can generate clay, they can sculpt it to a spell and toss it. He yonks it an sculpt it for his own purpose.

Remember kids just because you dosn't understand something doesn't make it stupid, that's how we end up with flatearthers and aliens building the pyramids.
