Kyouka's going to be the first, and the last: the first to get boned, but not until the story's almost over(or in an epilogue).
And the remaining Eight Gods of Thunder are going to rip them a new one. It'd still happen if Kyouka wins, because Ren and the Agency will do something stupid to lead up to it anyway.
On a strategic level yeah unless we see a failure (civilians dying) or the thunder gods achieving victories on any front then it's basically one sided as fuck. Like seeing some failure would help spice the story up. I mean any change of pace is welcome, such as Ren betraying the MDF.
from dialogue the gods have had amongst eachother they acknowledge that ren is strong but they didnt really try to fight her when she fought them. They let her be overconfident and are playing possum with this peace deal so they can unleash the curse that masked god is cooking up. Curses are an interesting strat cause we have seen there are curse like abilities (such as the slave reward) that ren can not only not nullify but also has no resistance to. Perhaps they know that and that is why they are using the curse strategy.
Same here. I'd like her comeuppance. She's underestimating the God of Thunder way too much.
