I mean like yes killing your dad is bad but if he's a piece of shit then i don't see any problem here. As for the mother, this is just the beginning of her repentance, its quite cruel to tear off the letter infront of the big sister. Ofcourse killing someone at a young age would change the way a person view their world, she should've brought her lil sis to a psychiatrist

Jesus fucking Christ... I can’t stand Asuka right now. Did she really think dumping all of this on Hotaru at once was a good idea? And what does she expect Hotaru to do—turn herself in to the police? Sheesh. Also, I’m not sure how prisons work in Japan, but where I’m from, if their dad went to jail for what he did, he wouldn’t come out alive, and it wouldn’t be pretty. In a way, what Hotaru did might’ve been the merciful option.

Thanks for the chapter!

I forget how old Hotaru is but I think Japan has a U13 law where children 13 and under can't serve prison time.

At this point, I wonder if Asuka has a complex from her trauma that makes her always perceive herself to be the villain as a defense mechanism of constantly being abused from such a young age. Her father was the scum of scum of scum, someone the world would rejoice at the death of if they knew the kind of person he was, and yet she still ignores everything she's been through at his hands, almost as if she thinks she deserved it. I know the manga wants it to seem like the little sister is the one in the wrong or with the greater mental consequences from the events, but Hotaru's disconnect and utter satisfaction in killing him is a much more understandable perspective than Asuka constantly foisting the blame for everything onto herself when she's the one who has been victimized the most. Sure, killing isn't a good thing, but neither were any of the horrific acts that their father had done to them, and with the sheer amount of terror he inflicted, the weight of his sins have long since lightened the weight of his murder until it was practically as light as air in the eyes Hotaru and, I'd go so far as to wager, anyone else who'd be reading this.

And it would make sense given how quickly she was willing to move on and forgive her mother who did nothing but fan the flames and prevent the sisters from finding peace and safety at any point in their lives, an utterly selfish act. She had her own difficulties, and I just know the mangaka is going to make them forgive the mother without issue in the end because of how Japan values their elders or whatever the hell, but regardless of how the story tries to spin things, she's still a villain to those poor girls, and Hotaru isn't exactly wrong in expecting her to continue to be the type of person that she showed herself to be before fleeing from them and her responsibility as their mother.

The lil sis just had enough. Why being depressed again if you can just mind your own business and be free? The one who need psychiatrist is the big sister here lol.

Yeah Asuka has years of abuse where the abuser made her feel worthless and dependent. It's going to take years of therapy to overcome. Asuka is concerned about helping Hotaru develop normally and live a normal life.

Thanks for the chapter, was worried that we would be waiting years. Also it was correct to pull the plug. It could also be argued killing Kazuhiro wasn't a sin as it was a self-defense measure to prevent further harm. But Hotaru ripping the letters up was stupid and is a barrier to further understanding and progress. Oh well, hopefully Asuka can piece the letters together.

A new trauma for Asuka, her little sister is (in her perspective) a remorseless murderer, so she compensates by claiming responsibility for their asshole of a father's death. Still, better than Sensitive Boy, as here there is a loving younger sister who disposed of the trash instead of the law letting them run loose even after they are ousted as rapists.

Yeah but what Asuka is trying to teach her is that that was an extreme case of self defense but murdering people isn't the solution 99% of the time.

oh yeah lets add the issues of drug dependency, lowering their IQ, and whatever other drug specific long term or even life long issues give on top of their problems. that will surely make things better right?....

honestly pot/MJ/weed is be a better alternative... and i'm not a fan of that either. (i consider it running from the problem)

what these sisters need is individual and family therapy. to actually set aside time to work though their issues. and to be honest both should've been given as a public service. the fuck is anyone paying taxes for. :haa:

Killing the dad: good.
Ripping the letters from the mom: bad.
Not regretting killing the dad: based as fuck.
Little Sis is 2 for 3 here.
Nah. She's right. That mum doesn't deserve anything. Whatever she does won't change the past. Just move on from anything. Hotaru and Asuka is the victim here, not their mum or their dead father. They didn't commit any sin whatsoever.

I think most addictions are part of running from the problem and escapism. I don't really think there's that much difference betweeen substance abuse, and sex addiction, chronic masturbation, excessive video gaming, or being chronically online honestly. They're just less harmful.
