@Vasqueztion I said it before in the main comment section so here it is again:
We as humans give arbitrarily names to other species based on some common characteristics. This mostly works because humans are the only species that can think and give names to other animals and stuff.
The tricky part is naming other sentient beings. So humans call pointy eared people elfs, but do elfs call themselves elfs? Do they call themselves fairies? In the end it's all names us humans give to them and force upon them. Lefay may fit into any of the names we give to her, but she herself may have a different name for her own race, just like elfs call humans "monkey people".
She just doesn't mind being called elf or fairy or whatever, but her actual race might as well be something completely different from what we think.
