1. According to myth Medusa's curse causes others to turn to stone when they look directly into her eyes.
2. Perseus kills Medusa by using his polished shield as a mirror.

Based on these two items, most strongly #2, seeing a reflection would turn NO ONE into stone, let alone Medusa.
