This thread is for suggesting and discussing new tags to be implemented on MangaDex.
Read the guidelines below then post your suggestion as a reply here.

All tags are subject to review by the mod team and are not guaranteed to be added.

Guidelines:

1. The tag should represent a broad theme or concept that can apply to many different series. Avoid tags that are too niche or abstract. Providing examples is encouraged to clarify where it would be used.
2. Provide a clear explanation of the tag's purpose and what type of content it's meant to categorize. At the very least your suggestion should answer the question: What type of content is it meant to categorize?
3. Avoid suggesting tags that could closely overlap with existing ones. If unsure, check our Tags Definition for guidance, ask if you're still unsure.
4. Tags should primarily focus on describing the content itself, such as its themes, genres, or storytelling structure. Tags that focus on external conditions or processes will be rejected. Other types of tags may be accepted, provided they help users identify the reading structure or navigational format of the content.
5. All suggested tags must align with our site rules. Tags for content that violates these rules will not be accepted.

Important:

Currently a rework is being done to handle "porn tags". This new system will allow us to categorize these tags to flag them appropriately and segregate them from the main list of tags. Suggestions for these tags will not be considered at this time.

Below is a list of tag suggestions that meet the above requirements and are subject to review by the mod team. This list is a work in progress and will be updated.

Streamers - Used for series where the protagonist streams and interacts with their viewers, be it in a dungeon, a tower, or a video game. Examples: 'The Overpowered Newbie', 'A Bottom-Tier Ojousama Dungeon Streamer', and 'Genius Archer's Streaming'
Yes please. This is getting really popular. We need this so I can filter it.

I would name it "Streaming" though.

Should definitely include Banishment. That subgenre is growing almost as popular as Isekai, and it'd be so awesome to just search for that tag rather than going through the common title keywords one by one.

If this hasn't been brought up before- I would like to suggest an "adult cast" tag to be added.
Sites like LiveChart already have this tag implemented, and honestly it's exteremely useful for old farts like me who want to find stories which are not just about teenagers.

MangaDex currently already has the "office workers" tag which is significantly more limiting (more niche?) and doesn't fit a lot of titles. I believe having an "adult cast" tag would be much more useful.

I think "bullying" and "extreme bullying", the stuff that is basically torture or sexual exploitation and assault, should have their own tags at this point. I know the "extreme bullying" would overlap with the sexual violence tag to an extent but it would help clarify the type of content to expect. In some cases the sexual violence in a series is not part of the bullying but a separate thing that happens in a story so the bullying might just be normal levels of bullying rather than criminal acts of violence.

Bullying is basically a sub genre of manga already so I think it should get an official tag.
I know this kind of stuff can be a legitimate trigger for some people as well. The more extreme bullying where they are torturing(burning, cutting, drowning), sexually abusing(photos, trafficking, rape) and in some cases murdering should have a tag similar to the "gore" and "sexual violence" ones, imo.
It would be nice to know at a glance if the bullying manga is normal bullying or "violates the Geneva Convention" bullying.

Isn't the "delinquents" tag sort of that already?

"Delinquents" doesn't always have to do with bullying. I've seen it in quite a few series that have nothing to do with bullying. It covers quite a broad range of things like drop-outs, skipping class, gangs outside of school and "yankee" types who look scary, dye their hair, have piercings and/or are loud including gyaru quite often.
