Just some quick thoughts on things I think would make the Notices tab more useful:
1) Add a pinned link to Canary. Ideally I'd like to see changes in Canary posted there too so I know what bugs/earth-shattering redesigns I can look for. As staff pointed out, only ~8% of users use the forum and I don't see any mention of Canary elsewhere
2) Include updates to the community guidelines. Every time I visit I see substantive changes to the guidelines that are completely unannounced, and from lurking in the support Discord I can see this is a common issue even for experienced contributors.
...3) A hard commitment that material changes to the user experience will always be posted at least 24 hours before go-live. Except for security emergencies, there is zero reason these sorts of changes need to be pushed without prior notice. IIRC the notices that are currently posted are dated before from the new commenting system went live, so that capability and process seems to already be there.
not gonna suggest the become a supporter popup could be co-opted to drive users to the notices tab
