Dude it's actually tragic how hard this manga fell off.
It started off as a mature exploration of a relationship with many cute elements and now it's ... I don't even know what. Apologist for power abusers?? A lesson in denial of trauma??
Completely fucking bizarre.
Meguro became a female equivalent of all these male leads who can never get upset at bad things happening and who can never critique their relationships, which is utterly insane.

Most readers in comments treat past Meguro (and all 14yo girls in general) like a valuable vase they own which you shouldn't touch, it should stay on the shelf and gather dust, and if you touch it then you are a bad kid, you could drop and break it. They all forget to see her as a living being, which obviously had feelings, immature, childish, yes, but it was a huge experience in her life.
That's why I like seeing this fire burn from her thanking her "sensei".
Now throw some shit at me
You'd have a point if the guy she was with wasn't someone openly exploiting her feelings for sex and purposefully conditioning her to let men step all over her so he can have easy access to sex.

We know she wasn't like this in the past, too. This man is the one solely responsible for destroying her ability to have normal, functioning relationships.

This is not how one explores feelings/sexuality at a young age, this is simply being taken advantage of/grooming and it's repugnant.

Her view of those moments is completely tainted/biased because no one taught her what grooming/trauma is. She literally never got the chance to have a normal life because the teacher ruined it. Even if she herself doesn't see it that way, it's still horrible.

I'll give you this, victims of abuse irl do actually sometimes idolize their abuser and what they did as a coping mechanism (to basically separate themselves from victimhood), but that doesn't mean the abuse is any less bad.

However this manga just plays it straight and tells the reader the teacher did nothing wrong. It was just a different kind of love. That is appalling and is rightfully being lambasted in the comments.

Just because what he did technically wasn't illegal (he was probably a minor too at the time) it affected Meguro negatively for years, he was still an asshole about the whole thing, his world views are still screwed up, and every character is trying to pass the whole thing as something positive that happened in her life.

I could fertilize a garden with the contents of these final chapters.

Oh. My fucking God.

She actually thanked him. And he thanked her back. I hope that prick gets hit by a fucking bus.

I am kinda thankful for this last arc, though. I tend to reread manga I enjoyed once they finish. No fucking chance of that happening here. Thank you, author-san.

I'm more shocked this still has a 7+ rating on this site despite the (correct) criticisms being levied against it non-stop. Even if you ignore the borderline self insert hand waving away of exploitation of a minor going on the story outside of that is so bland and boring since the actual interesting side characters all up and vanished.

What happened to the dude who has a poly relationship with like 4 other girls? What did he have to say about Koga getting broken up with? Why did the little sister only show up to run interference with groomer Sensei but get basically zero lines of dialogue or input on how it was stupid and fucked up (or how Meguro broke up with Koga, her little sister had nothing to say about that either?!). I can't even say it was axed because this "final" arc was so fucking long winded and meandering that if it was due to an axing it couldn't possibly have lasted this long (then again Gal*Cleaning got cheeky and managed to stay long past it's execution date so maybe something similar happened here).

The biggest travesty from this entire ordeal is that the author clearly thinks what the tutor did wasn't problematic despite them initially showing that the entire reason Meguro can't form meaningful relationships is specifically caused by him. What is the takeaway supposed to be here? I just can't wrap my head around how this turned out so poorly. It's such a hard swerve and that dissonance is making it harder to let go.
A lot of people forget about this and to decrease the rating i even forget about it,xd

It's amazing how 9°C always manages to screw up her endings with dumb decisions, every manga of hers starts off great and ends with pure disappointment, it's like she gives up every time she gets Axed instead of trying to deliver something good to her readers.

You shouldn't talk about things you don't understand. Like at all. Makes you seem like as fucked up as the groomer you just tried to side with.

It's not that its simply dumb. It's actually pretty concerning. Harmful even. If these are the legit thoughts of a woman who is a mainstream writer and her entire editorial team and publisher didn't even bother to point this shit out,

god fucking damn.

I have to assume someone hurt the author and this is autobiographical because how in the hell do you thank your groomer after dumping the only person who truly loved you and helped you grow into a better person? How? How? How?

This story took a hard left off the common sense cliff and exploded at the bottom of the valley of stupid.

This feels like an aborted arc, really. The manga had to end, and the author decided to go with this... jumbled mess.

Meguro and her issues with sexuality were the series' longest running arc. Its main arc even, you could say. And this is the resolution we get...? Who was the editor that greenlighted this absolute nonsense? It's so bad that even a straight-out cancellation of the manga would have felt better, which I believe is saying something. Such a damn shame. :(

I'm dissapointed with this whole Arc. It's a bitter note to end on for a Manga that was a really great exploration of non-traditional relationships. Others have already explored all the bad things about this ending, and I agree. I wish that her trauma regarding her relationship with the teacher got properly resolved, or at least put on a road to resolving. In the current way this is, we have Meguro in a pseudo-Stockholm syndrome with him and it's just...

Horrendous manga

Not one redeeming character

Scumbag predator ex who got fucking THANKED.

Pathetic cuck MC, honestly would love it if he got NTR and cried in the finale.

And the main event herself, what a shitty unlikeable selfish ignorant person she is.

Nice work, no wonder this volume is rushed drama due to the obvious axe.

Finished the last chapter, I feel sick:
After reading the last chapter, it's clear that this story was never about romance but rather a platform for the author’s cuckoldry fetish. There’s no significant character development, and the ending doesn’t redeem the prior chapters. If the last eight chapters hadn't existed, there might have been something salvageable, but those chapters completely ruined any previous build-up.

The female protagonist supposedly had over 100 partners before her "healthy" relationship with the main character, yet she can't bring herself to be intimate with him. Worse, there's no indication that this will change anytime soon. The professor who molested and psychologically damaged her makes a reappearance, but faces no consequences for his actions. This man utterly destroyed her mental state, and she still claims she will always love him and never forget what he taught her—an incredibly disturbing message.

The male protagonist never confronts this professor. In fact, he effectively pushes her back toward him. By the end, she still hasn’t made any decisions of her own volition—even to see her boyfriend, she needed others to push her—and the male lead remains spineless. Nothing changes. If anything, the characters’ situations get "worse".

The side characters didn’t get proper conclusions either, but at this point, who cares? This isn’t romance. It’s not cute. It’s not okay. If you enjoyed it, that’s your choice, but I urge you to reconsider what you just read. Does the story resolve any of the issues introduced at the beginning? Did the characters grow at all? Did any of their actions have meaningful consequences? I saw none of that.

1/10 for the story. 4/10 for the art (it was damaged by the story being so bad at the end). -100/10 for the author.
