A masterpiece of storytelling. It is a different beast compared to Nickelodean due to its overarching narrative but just an amazing, if not a bit confusing read. Honestly this work deserves to be studied.
A whole lot of 'purple-monkey-dishwasher' at first. The vignettes were entertaining at times from their sheer absurdity, but overall I don't understand why that alone is enough that so many folks enjoy it. Art was good, at least.
Someone explain this please? Are chapters connected or separate stories ? I read the first three and understood nothing, so will i understand if i finish it or is it all like this ?
Updated: I finished it, now I understand most of it but it is still not that good.
Extremely overrated
I quite like how every single story ends up connecting to each other. And while some of the themes were quite intresting there are also a few things that I just have to criticise. There are some cases of homophobia and transphobia. But more of a problem to me is how it has some cases that I would definitly call depicting pedophilia. Some more directly than others. And the problem is that it depicts pedophilia in a way that makes it see as if it isnt something problematic. I have nothing against art depicting pedophilia in how it can cause harm for victims of it. And I would say that I would not have anything against a depiction of how it might be quite difficult to deal with ones own pedophilia and trying not to let it cause harm to others. I know that one might not choose to be a pedophile the same way many things regarding sexual attraction and arousal are not often a product of a direct choice and I have respect for anyone that manages to fight against such a part of themself to avoid causing harm to others (and any sexual relationship between a child and an adult is inhearantly harmful imo). But dont make things look like they arent that big of a problem or even something sympathetic.
In short this manga does a lot of intresting things and does them well but it also has quite a few problems that make it hard to like it in the end. Espacily since there really was nothing the story did gain from them.
Lowkey, I'm super confused. I'm new to the author, so maybe i don't have enough experience with his work, but after reading this for at least one time, it was alright. solid 7/10.
