this group has been posting as they came out on their twitter. it's only now that someone decided to post to manga dex that it's a bulk upload. It would actually more effort to pace it out when the work was already done.

we should be caught up to the raws and are stuck waiting again (this chap was posted some weeks ago).

am curious if these will get deleted since the uploader isn't the scanlator

It's fine, Hidamarisou unlocked the upload restriction for their group, so anyone can upload their translations without getting punished for it.

I wouldn't consider it all that laudable. If people would quit panhandling here on MD, then it wouldn't be much of an issue. You ever notice that most of the stuff that got copyright strikes was being uploaded by groups using paywalls and stand-alone websites with ads?

We even got a few warning shots across the bow when the payment, crowdfunding systems, and advertisers these groups were using banned their accounts. Who do you think flagged them? Certainly not anyone here. But rather than go, "Oh, maybe we need to rethink our life choices here," they instead doubled down and switched to bitcoin.

So who do the publishers target next when that didn't work? Mangadex itself, of course.

And honestly? I'm getting fed up with these groups heedlessly profiteering and acting like they're some kind of hero while MD gets fucked over by their actions. Scanslation started out as a hobby and a means for people to share what they love, and it should remain so.

Actually, they use Patreon to paywall their "early releases".

And even if you do snub their early releases because you don't wanna pay for them? Your choices do not matter because they have absolutely no bearing at all on what Hidamari does or does not. What matters is that Hidamari is doing it at all in the first place.

That should be a big fucking no-no for MD because it's a sure-fire way to get the attention of the publishers, but the admins are too afraid of rocking the boat by making that a hard-and-fast rule. Because, yeah, it certainly will mean a lot of scanslators will go elsewhere. But I'd rather have that instead of seeing MD getting torpedoed by copyright strikes.

Dude, sooner or later MD will get fucked by the publishers. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. They will all want to get their money, no matter what.

It's like Rockstar/Take2, who took down a bunch of mods for the 3D trilogy cause they didn't want any competition for their shitty "remaster". Mods that were up for fucking decades too.
