I've heard of slippery slope fallacies but this man's got a full fucking water park slide in terms of his principles and convictions.

I'll only be involved in helping your families escape.
I won't allow my ships to be used for war drills
I won't allow my ships to be involved in actually fighting or sinking ships.
I won't lend out my ships to one side. <------ We are currently here.

To be fair, he was suggested by the god who isekai'd him that he should involve himself in affairs quite more, albeit i don't recall any penalty being mentioned for not doing it.

The Gods are bored to tears, and have begun petitioning to have your Lame boat skill revoked and give you a more entertaining skill instead, like Nuclear magic or something else warlike, to make you fight on the frontlines.

But the real consequence that got the mc moving was that all the gods are talking shit and even the Goddesses are bored of him playing it safe.

it's a step up at least.

Yeah. I have lost absolutely all respect for girasole (not that I ever had much for them), and my respect for mc has been faltering bigtime as he just kept on rolling over. But at least this chapter restored a slight amount of respect in how he finally made a demand (which from what I understand actually was rather large, dunno how much 120 coins were) and ensured they couldn't continue to lie to him in how they would use his aid ("defence only") by making the ship entirely stationary.

The Gods are pretty much like us readers. Wataru need to put more use of his skills, and took more active roles in this world. But Wataru being Wataru, the chicken that he is, it's hard to make him took action unless it directly affect him.

I guess MC keeps changing is mind is good progress. Like your friends really needs help even though you are lazy and end up helping them anyway.

I think we have so much of strong willed characters and being bit flexible does change of pace a bit.

If he keep saying no, it just show MC didn’t have much growth as a character. I want MC makes mistake, I want to see an actual growth even if it is small.
