I kinda like this manga but it feels like there's been 0 plot development since the start.

Ok so from that offering the local god or spirit whatever just got Lambdafied. So now it's a lambda rabbit ghost/god thing. Still maybe it's good? it did protect that girl or did it just eat it because that's what ghosts and things do to get stronger. Still maybe it can be a force of good? Either way it'll keep getting power.

You can interpret it in multiple ways.
My personal take is that the local god / Spirit might have been forgotten and left weak. ( assumed from the state of the shrine )

But thanks to her offering he got some power back.
( and also a new appearance in the hope of attracting more attention? )
It kinda reminds me of Reiwa no Dara-san, where they basically "rehabilitated" an evil, wounded mountain god by worshiping it as a protector for centuries. The spirit of this park might be like an emaciated version of the giant god Miko made a pact with; this encounter might have nudged it in the direction of being a protector, or it could just be sustaining itself by eating spirits and spiritually-charged offerings. I think the ambiguity of its real motivations is the point, though.

I wish Miko would just tell Julia the truth about her. It's just gonna cause more problems down the road.
But it's the easiest fallback setup when the mangaka can't come up with anything else. The ol' reliable.

They're probably gonna tread water as much as they can. The publisher wants to milk the most money from them and the mangaka gets a steady paycheck too. Until the constant treading dulls their big picture or writing skills

Manga industry isn't as profitable as you think it is. It wouldn't be weird for author to have another job besides this.

Ghost evolving using Hana's bun like an evolution stone from Pokémon lmao. Was it always that strong and changed due to the one encounter or has it always fed off Hana's sacrifices and has always been the rabbit ghost. Awesome design as always
You're overthinking the ghost's appearance. We've repeatedly seen how spirits are constantly morphing based on what they take in. The only exception has been Michiru which isn't quite a ghost. This appears to be a land-bound god, not unlike the fox from before. It's probably had many offerings for much longer than Hana or Miko have been around.

My interpretation is that it was just a local "god" that can feeds on other spirits. It's already estabilished that there are "things" out there that kill and eat other "things".
Like always, the behavior is always consistent, you can now understand that when Miko saw it earlier by the candy shop it was not interested on Miko, it was already eyeing that thing on the girl's feet.
Yep, just a local kami cleaning his turf. It seems he will keep the people within his territory safe, especially if you make a delicious and power-charged offering

Amazed at the number of people trying to divide the spirits into good and bad. More accurately it's "dangerous" and "less dangerous" with a very few "neutral" and/or "somewhat helpful". And these spirits are as much a part of the natural world as anything else. Fighting them is like fighting the tide -- small localized wins is the most that you can get.

This is fundamentally a horror manga, not a "fight all out war and mostly win against horror" manga. Mieruko's fundamental viritue for the reader is "brave endurance" of something to which she has no substantial offense or defense.

When you thought Julia was going to show their powers, Hana got the upper-hand and overpowered her. She is simply the strongest, I can't fathom how many surprises she still has for us.

So the lambda is a good ghost?
Remember the ghost in the hospital, appearances, at least what miko sees, can be deceiving, the "nice" old lady ghost was a dangerous one and the one that looked like something out of the cthulhu mythos was a benevolent ghost ferrying the dead to the other side, makes you wonder if miko's mind just can't fathom their true form and is making up eldritch designs or do they actually look like that.

In japan the idea of a god losing power without belief and offerings being necessary for them to gain power and help others is somewhat common for lesser gods in shinto theological views.
