As for any anime live action, my expectations are the lowest of low. Nor am I a fan of either the actress or director. However, I am looking forward to the movie. I'm really interested in how the ghosts will be depicted in live action, even though it will most likely just be really cheap cg.

Is that dude case true to life?
Is it a crime in Japan to take pictures of people in public?

That is so stupid if it true...
in this regard probaly not...however if it was focused on a upskirt or her butt etc then probaly illegal

I would normally scoff at the phone camera having the old-style camera shutter sound, as no one has that turned on anymore.
But then I remember what I heard CDawgVA - I think it was - mentioned in a video about phones in Japan, and how apparently that camera shutter sound is unable to be turned off on Japanese phones. I don't know if what they said was true or not, as I haven't actually been in Japan to find out for myself, but I'm sure there are those here that can confirm or deny it!
It's true. Can confirm as I have a JP phone in Japan.

Stalking and peeping have become such a problem there that this is one way to combat it, by making sure everyone can hear you when you take a photo.

I love how she didn't really mind her sister "hugging" with another girl in public.

I think the live action can do the horror bit well, it's the Mieruko's actress I'm having trouble picturing how it'll go. In manga and anime it's much easier to portray muted terror expression, while IRL it's a hard line to balance on.

That sounds both interesting - that they thought of forcing the camera shutter noise to always be turned on - and horrible - that Japan has that kind of problem...
