That caught me off-guard. Also that was a nice, little fight scene. I'd like to see it animated.

Luckily enough, acknowledging the ghost seems to only work for one of them at the time. Can you imagine if every ghosts in park suddenly rush her after she has been spotted by the kid.

That was freaking scary. Holy fucking shit.

I hope Miko and Julia can unite forces. I think they will be stronger together when they can learn from each other.

So...
1. Inari gave her three saves after eating the smart giant combo ghost haunting Hana. That means the first one wasn't counted as Inari saving Miko but as some sort of offering instead, as others already pointed out. This implies that Inari might be the same kind as creature as the ghost-eating queue ghost.

2. Hana can actually get drained if her life force is consumed faster than she could eat. The giant combo ghost didn't drain her because she was eating all the way to the meeting and after. This funnily only became a problem in a situation where she's stuck in a classroom with a teacher haunted by multiple big combo ghosts... and can't eat.

3. The ghost of the kid is probably not that different from dad. This is a ghost who retains a human form and haunts a loved one (?) benignly. However, it seems that being recognized as a ghost triggers SOMETHING violently dark in him. It implies that dad might be the same. It's kinda sad when you think of it this way because that also implies cat guy's wife (and pair of nekomata) might be the same. Also, wifey got her kitty friends because they were her pets, so that brings up the question of how dad ended up with a horse-thing.

4. We already know some ghosts are driven by purpose (the old lady's husband) and will self-exorcise once that purpose has been satisfied. This also sort of suggests that the queue ghost is some sort of god like Inari and the queued ghosts are getting exorcised. Gods in this story are eldritch abominations that eat ghosts, and exorcism is just a god eating a ghost. Then axe-boy may actually be another form of god. That may be why his axe didn't hurt Miko.

Miko needs to start facing her ghost problems head-on now because she only has one safe left and sensei is gonna be there until the maternity leave ends. The good news is that queue ghost is probably easier to access than Inari because he just lives on a street next to a donut shop. The bad news is that he only eats self-exorcising ghosts, and sensei's friends don't look like they have a purpose other than getting revenge on sensei.

The more I think about it, the more it's obvious crazy sensei is the problem, not his ghost followers. He needs to get his karma handed to him somehow so that the ghosts would just leave him willingly and queue up next to MDs.

@Chrona
I thought I made my point clear, but apparently it is not.
At page 8 you can see a picture of a calm and tranquil plaza, to which Hana said: "it's so relaxing". In this picture you can see a fountain, a children with a balloon holding hand with a woman speaking in a phone and a middle-aged man resting on a bench. We then assume that this is what is seeing, since there is no sign of ghosts. On page 9 we see the same scene seen through miko eyes: we have a ghost in the fountain, one near the woman at the phone and one entering into the sleeping man. The children with the balloon appears in BOTH the pictures, so we are forced to believe that he is, indeed, real, since Hana could see him.

My grievance here is not with the fact that the ghost resembled a human being, (we have already seen that with her father) but with the fact that the author provided false information with the sole purpose of a cheap jumpscare. If they provided only the second picture that would be perfectly fine, since that was what miko was seeing; the first one picture, however isn't something a character could see.

Can't she donate again to refill her protection..?

Or better yet, resign herself to becoming a shrine maiden.

@Beregorn i was trying to wrack my head around how its possible...
My conclusion: author fk'd up.
it would have worked just as well if the boy didn't appear in hana's vision of the park and did in mieruko as a regular kid. its not like they have a shared vision and readers would have gone back to previous panels to see if the boy was there or not regardless.
I hope author doesn't pull anymore inconsistent nonsense without explanation again.... cus i hate dat shit.

SHIT. This chapter's gonna be a big NOPE for me, dawg.

This development was truly the last thing Miko's mental health needed. She deserves a gold fucking medal for not reacting while that Ghost Kid started dashing towards her. On one hand, I feel like the Yakuza-looking cat guy from before could solve her physical issues with Zen-sensei, but on the other she's got bigger problems to deal with now. She really needs to seek some additional help (Julia, the Godmother or her Grandson she mentioned that one time, the Axeman, the Inari God, Anaguma, etc.) I'd even settle for the Sprinting Spook from last chapter or Miko's little Bro at this point.

On the plus side it was nice to see that Hana is alright for now and the interactions between her, Julia, and Miko in the school infirmary and on the park bench showing how much they care for each other. Real friendship goals on display there.

Well, two close calls. One she was dragged into and the other where she just plain got caught out.

She really has to find some other way to deal with this stuff. On the other hand it would kinda wreck the series if she came into some big power.

Hey, I know most of you guys are pissed off with the author because of the ghost kid also appearing in Hana’s point of view.

But I have a theory. It consists of two points – one about the kid touching the woman, and one for the seemingly plot hole.

Well, we know that this monstrosities want to be noticed, so they follow people (some because of a bond). We also know that these creepy ones come in different types (in relation to power and presence, that is). There was one that even our cute little Julia couldn’t see, right? Then, what if there’s a chance for this phenomenon happening backwards? Like, they becoming somewhat noticeable to people.

To put a example of this idea, let’s look at a panel this chapter – especially, when the kid appears with the woman. So, we see that she’s holding the kid’s hand, but she doesn’t pay attention to him (although this normally makes sense in real life since there are exact examples of this behavior). Look then after the kid gets killed by the spirit guardians of our MC. The woman never seemed to notice that the kid stopped holding her hand, and she didn’t pay attention to the kid getting terminated either. This makes sense because she can’t see ghosts, but... then why she could touch it?

This observation makes me believe that there are some ghost that can be more noticed by strong wills or some shit like that. Let’s say that the kid wanted a mother so bad that he managed to be unconsciously noticed by that woman, and therefore she can and does interacts with him.

Now, to the second point. I’ll confess that I’m not quite sure about this one, but here it goes.

Notice that Hana’s life force is low because of her weird condition. Then, let’s also make use of the fact that this never happened before to her (till’ now), and we never saw someone else in that condition (explicitly explained/seen as it is, i.e.).

If that life force thing it’s there so you are protected from ghosts and the like, it could also mean that it prevents you from seeing them – I’ll grab my point about ghosts each having different types of power and presence, and apply it to this scenario.

Hana (now life forceless) it’s now recovering by eating, and she sees this little guy, who’s a special one as it can be noticed more easily by – let’s add to make it more likely – women. She doesn’t react because it makes sense in her view and the kid doesn’t try to interact with her. She probably stops seeing the ghost kid by the time she starts eating (we don’t know if this is true since there’s no info to back it up, but I think it may work like that; her life power was low, so when it recovers a little she stops seeing the kid), and then only our MC has the jumpscare.

Hope I didn’t mess up while explaining, and feel free to disprove my theory. Till then, I’ll just wait and see.
