Romm gives me serious Mephistopheles (Faust) vibes. Especially the way he tracked down Miko and keeps on trying to get close to her. I bet he has formed a pact with some powerful being, who gave him all the secrets on how to perform those purification rituals and how to make those weird stones.

It might even "act through him" to interact with the mortal world, as a recurring theme of the spirits in this manga is that they want to be seen and interacted with by mortals. He might be one of the very few human people, who are spiritually gifted enough to see the most powerful spirits.

@blackrobe shes more like a tesla coil than seasoning, the creatures are attracted to her power but if they get too close they could be toasted. The larger spirits use her as a cooking device

I'm more and more convinced that what mieruko is seeing is not just ghosts, but also demons, hence why others can't see them, my real question and probably something that will eventually come up, is why mieruko can see them.

Also i don't think anything is gonna happen to granny, this series has never really delved into tragedy yet and if granny died logically mieruko who would have seen her only hope die with her, in a more realistic term probably wouldn't be able to handle it.
But even then, i honestly don't think the author wants to take that route, more than likely grandma is gonna be a part of the main cast from here on if i was to guess.

My lawd, so granny doesn't know that those ghosts "vanishing to heaven" were just eaten by even bigger monsters.
There are levels to ignorance I guess.

Granny vision: "Peacefully fading away"
Miko vision: "Getting eaten by some other horrifying creatures"
Miko cries terrified tears.

Definitely makes me wonder if Miko could acknowledge the "administrator" ones without instantly being attacked. Would mean we get to learn more about the mosquitoes.

I'm looking forward to getting more lore and development if Miko is going to get some training or encounters with others who can see the spirits.

Everyone is converging around godmother. So, we know that out of all the women Miko is the most powerful psychic and Hana is basically a parfait-fueled nuclear reactor. Where does that put Romm, I wonder? He's the only male we've seen and we haven't seen whether he could see the more horrific things Miko does.

I especially like how this manga handles the way the psychics build up their worldview based on the limitations of their sight. Both godmother and Julia can't really see the truly horrific things around them, so they have a softer but actually distorted view of the supernatural. They only see the catatonic ghosts who can't do anything to them, so they assume ghosts aren't dangerous. They see ghosts disappear and think they got exorcised or sent to heaven, when in fact it's just a bigger ghost eating them. They can't see the true form of gods and their servants so they assume it's some sort of cat-and-mouse game. Miko, on the other hand, gets to see the whole eldritch landscape laid out before her in glorious detail, so she can't even delude herself into thinking there's any form of safety out there. She's really a strong girl with a massive sanity check bonus that would throw old H. P. into fits of disbelief.

This reminds me of a Spanish novel, where psychics and mediums where different (psychics could SEE spirits, and while mediums couldn't, they could FEEL and TALK to them, convincing them of leaving someplace or to the afterlife).
