I won't ever not be impressed by an author that can write both GL and BL.

Like, lots can do comedy and action, and some write a slice of life and then a tear-jerking tragedy. But it takes a really fearsome fellow to hit both sides of the rainbow.

For some reason, most of the yuri manga that get animated are preeeeetty meh (not saying bad, just very... Meh), but maybe Aizawa can join the ranks of the few GREAT yuri mangas to get an anime out there, along with Adachi to Shimamura and Bloom Into You (though The Moon on a Rainy Night anime was announced recently and I'm not counting Yuru Yuri cause it's 99% just comedy).

Watatashi No Yuri Wa Oshigoto would be in that list, but unfortunately I read the manga afterward and it's retroactively bad now. And I'm still shocked that Can't Defy the Lonely Girl never got one (both cause it's good and cause it seemed pretty popular at the time), but I'll take Aizawa over it any day of the week, I think it'll actually be huge if it gets an anime (with good reason).

EDIT: also, I genuinely wonder if the success of Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is the reason why we seem to be getting a lot more yuri anime lalely. There's a huge chance that's the case tbh, which is pretty funny.

Tbh i think Fed-Up Office Lady would work best for an anime from all of these but only if the story was finished in it, then Aizawa. Summer You Were There for a full length movie instead of episodic anime.

The poll isn't gonna guarantee anything, it just gets more eyes on what does well and maybe gets the ball rolling for something down the line. FWIW I do think that we have enough story now that there would be enough for a full season 1 by the time it starts getting adapted.

There's a submission period. I presume they just take the top N most-submitted series after tabulating valid submissions. Tho, that doesn't answer how they choose that N. It's varied year to year.
