There is also the "Half-your-age-plus-seven" rule that nobody knows were it come from, if I remember she is in her 30's and he is on his 50's and that rule would apply (25+7=32), she been carrying that torch since she joined and her mother also married someone much older, also before I forget ...

The biggest issue is if you have a messy break up you still have to see them every day. And depending on how it happens might cause a rift between different coworkers who are closer to the individuals.
Second with positional power difference it could be abused.
If things go well though yeah it can be super nice

Preach brother. Imo once your in your 30s who really cares if they are older. Like if you make her 20 it's more problematic but they are both fully mentally developed adults so no reason to stress about it.

I think it's more of a corporate imposed taboo to make sure a company never suddenly loses 2 workers instead of just 1 if things proceed to marriage.
