The castle on the last page looks so jank lmao.
That castle was drawn by someone who has no idea how a star fort works
does a fantasy manga have to be realistic?
Yes, unless they specify some fantasy reason for it not to be
A fort and a castle is two different things anyway. They just combined it.
I wont negg this untill i see in any fantasy manga a realistic city. Every fucking city in ALL fantasy manga is houses/the town surrounded by walls in a circle then wastland outside. Now THAT is stupid.
The most plausible reason would be the transitional phase,as reflected in real life.

The thin tall walls of castle quickly became weak to canon fire, hence why thick short walls of forts came to be.

The castle came first, and as odd as it was for a castle,it was given a geometric outer wall, which was fine until they needed short thick walls,so the best solution was to build the fort around the already geometric outer walls.

Does the author and/or artist know about this?,probably not,but explaining why a fictional setting does what it does more often lies with the consumers then the producers.

nah. i am pretty sure the one who has wasteland in the outside of the wall is rarer in fantasy manga.

Thanks for the update!! Finally reached the chapter I saw the mangaka promoted on Twitter!! That's how I found out about this manga and got interested. Mitsuba's sadistic expression there is amazing, I love it so much. Actually, her expressions are always great, even when it's cutely flat - such an amazing gap moe.

Now, i can't stop wondering. How exactly Mitsuba immortality works? It must have been consumed something to keep working.

It's not an unusual occurrence. Castles were built at defensible locations, and those locations tend not to just up and wander about. Sometimes it is unaffordable to demolish an old castle and build a newer one, or the old castle has historic/national/sentimental value, so you end up with newer styles growing up around older ones. 'Old castle in new fort' is hardly an uncommon look, e.g. Kronborg.

True,not unusual.

What is,though,is the castle starting with geometric shaped wall, since we can see that the castle and wall are made with the same details.

Kronborg looks more like how it should've been.

I meant wasteland as in no human buildings and activity. Sorry for the confusion.

Most manga is just the circle wall town and an empty grass field. You are Lucky if the artist adds trees :dogkek:

She's had plenty of chances to soul drain people right after "dying", so it's unlikely we're going to see its mechanics and limitations for a while.

i am not confused about that tho. i really can't remember which manga that draw empty grass field like that. hmm maybe bleach, AOT, overlord, isekai meikyuu de harem o, moon-led journey, i already forgot the trashy one.

The one who i remembered (that worth to mentioned) all of them have different terrain of map and great detail of scenery of wide land. such as One piece, madan no ichi, dungeon meshi, made in abyss, kingdom of ruin, romsen saga, zatchbell, Helck, Isuca, Volundio, We love Isekai, Fukafuka dungeon, rosen garten saga, futoku no guild, final fantasy lost stranger, isekai shikoku, kemono no souja, juuou to yakusou, shangri-la frontier, witch hat atelier, sousou no frieren, re:zero, i am standing in 100 million lives, (the girl, the shovel, and the evil eye), spice & wolf, tensei ni hakobijin, my instant death ability is OP, unnamed memory, or if you want manhwa title overgeared, hardcore levelling warrior, 4 cut hero

Ah, yeah, i kinda forget about the detail that she could absorb soul. I never thought she uses the absorbed souls as her immortality battery.

That's the point, we don't KNOW if it's a required part of her revival. Because she hasn't been killed thoroughly enough that she might risk not having enough lifeforce, and she's clearly not going to refrain from soulsucking if she isn't even fully conscious.
