he can't sell her anymore because Renka and the Imp became friends. he first thought they had a really bad chemistry because of their banter and to not endanger his adventurer career he was willing to sell Imp if she wouldn't integrate properly into the group. but Renka and Imp became friends and got rewared with the friend link skill (unclear what exactly it does. probably some buff as long as they fight together) so he can't sell her anymore.

well thats my interpretation at least.
