Thanks for the translation.

This has good potential, let's see how it evolves.

Asmodeus who are banned here are up to 41 and inkvora who I think also got banned or might've never actually lasted past a few days are on 42.

I'd highly recommend picking some different fonts.
I guess its another paywall shenanigans again huh.

This is just me rambling out of topics, feel free to ignore. Few days ago i found a "translation" group that translate isekai novel. They paywall some of the chapters but you can read all of them eventually if you wait long enough, because it will be open to public. But i found out that they're just using MTL. Not any MTL mind you, its fucking google translate. They just copy it word for word and they didnt even proofread it. The absolute nerve of this people wanting money for MTL. I dont blame MD for banning paywalling group honestly.

When chapters get purged en masse, it's usually because a translation group moves to paywalling which violates MD rules. I read most of my comics on other sites nowadays cuz the vast majority of professional grade translators paywall nowadays. At least this isn't MTL'd slop, a human can improve.

It's become clear for a while that probably 90%+ of the new "groups" are AI/MTL translations which generally I've not had a problem with. MTL with QA has been a thing in scanalating from forever ago, when they're signposted as such beforehand.

The newer "groups" will have credits but generally don't have specific names for anyone, so most people would think they're actually a group same as you'd be used to but it's clearly MTL. Like they might mistranslate names, abilities or most noticeably messing up he and she, that's probably the most prominent red flag. The fact they all come out the gate with a kofi, patreon and donation link and their own site with the next 6 chapters behind a paywall and a preview page that spoils something a volume ahead.

It's a bit sad that something that was so fueled by passion like scanalation has become so clearly a racket for some. On the other side official channels can be behind or for quite a few series not exist at all, which is most of the trashy series I read and honestly a lot that aren't.

There are a few older groups who do a similar thing to this as well. For example, KDT Scans will often just credit "Staff" in every role, and when you read the chapter it's clearly MTL (which they will of course deny, but it's very obvious). I actually find that more annoying in a way - the quality of the TL fluctuates from pretty good to utterly unreadable depending on who TL'd it (or if it was MTL'd), which with the number of series they pick up (sidenote: that quantity is probably the reason they need to have so many TLs of differing ability levels, and need to MTL some shit - I could go on a whole rant about this group in particular but I digress lol) makes reading any of their chapters a total coin flip. The groups you're talking about on the other hand, are consistently terrible so it's easy to just block and ignore them.

That said, this chapter doesn't seem like MTL to me, just a new TL who probably doesn't speak English as their first language.

It was discussed ages ago as well: tolerating donation-based scanlation and any other financial incentives leads to sloppification, where crap get's pushed out the door as efficiently as possible with no regard for anything that used to be the core of the hobby. Yet even today so many people are willing to die on that hill, defending it...
