Not the original poster, but I have the same thoughts.
To me at least, there's reasonable eye candy that looks like it belongs in the scene, and there's in-your-face and contrived eye candy that just makes me facepalm.
Reading through the whole To-Love-Ru and Darkness years ago has left me jaded on this matter.
And I'm here because I've been there for too long to leave, although I do still enjoy parts of it.
