There's a whole mess of factional politics behind all this... Under a Very Weak King....

Important part of the whole exercise is to see if the crown prince even has what it takes to Rule, and if possible have the Twins make a fatal mistake that actually exposes their attempts at regicide and usurpation of the throne..

If the Crown Prince proved to be beyond salvation, and the Twins too uppity, it's already been ....suggested.... in a previous chapter that some kind of Cleaning House with Serena in her other capacity is definitely on the table..
Something about (one of) the King's brother(s) actually being a popular and efficient ruler as a Duke, and welllll.....

Serena may be cute-hot, but the politics in this world are ....literally cutthroat....
